Who is Eliza Gayle, give us the low down.
Eliza Gayle is the secret code name for a suburban mom who works by day as an undercover marketing manager and by night as a witch looking for love, a sex demon, an exhibitionist, an assassin, a bartender and on a rare occasion a crooner able to lure even the most reluctant vampire to her side.
Well, so much for the secret part anyways.
Lucas is the first book in a series about cougar shifters. What made you choose cougars?
I love the big cats. Jaguars, leopards, lions, cougars but since I was setting the series in the mountains of North Carolina I wanted something that could be actually found in this area. So it was basically bobcats or cougars. I went for the bigger, sleeker of the two.
Lucas himself is a very alpha man – which gets my heart beating a little faster. In “real life” do you think women would want a man that alpha?
I’ve considered this a lot and believe that yes, there are women who would want one very alpha man. I also think there are plenty of women who would likely kick him to the curb. After they’ve had their way with him first, of course. :)
Kira has training as a Marine Corps officer, and according to your bio, you also served in the Marine Corps. Are there any other similarities between you and Kira? Come on, do you have a psychic gift?
Why yes, I can see into the future and often use my ability to fight crime. Doesn’t everyone? Seriously though, as much as I love dreaming up new heroines, I’m sure you’d be hard pressed not to find a tad of me or a big ole shot of who I might have been in an alternate universe.
Lucas has some very steamy scenes including a menage, voyuerism and just overall hot sexin’. Is it hard to keep coming up with different things to do in the bedroom? Do you ever write a scene and think you have gone too far?
Yes, sometimes I sit at the computer and ask myself if this scene sounds fresh. But there’s a lot of different ways to get it done and every character has different emotions and attitudes towards the sexoring, so I’m not out of ideas yet.
As for the going too far. hehe I wonder that all the time. I’ve even had an editor come back and tell me that one of my scenes was anatomically impossible. My first thought was where could I find a couple of guys and a woman willing to test my theory.
Kane is next in line, and at the end of the book we get a little hint into his future mate. In this book, he likes to help his half brother out in the bedroom – any hints on Kane? Is he going to go solo with his mate or invite others in?
Oh Kane is going to have his hands full with his woman. As I was writing his story I kept thinking they’d be lucky if they didn’t kill each other.
What are three things you need with you when you write?
Does my laptop count or is that a given? Hmm. A comfortable spot. (coffee shop, lounge chair in my room, etc.) I really like to listen to movie soundtracks when I write, especially for the paranormals. Seems to help set the mood of the story. And a glass of ice cold Coke with a straw.
What is the last book you read? Because I am addicted to Twitter, review it in 140 characters.
I just finished Nauti Boy by Lora Leigh. It had it all. Emotional, super hot military men, lots of lovin and a shot of suspense.
Which fictional character do you lust after the most?
That’s an easy one for me. Roarke from the J.D. Robb In Death series. Maybe he sticks so hard in my mind because his and Eve’s story continues to play out book after book so we know them very well but… He got me in the simplest way in the very beginning and I have never been able to get it out of my head. When he first met Eve she lost a button on her coat which he kept and still carries in his pocket to this day. It gets me every time it happens to come up again. Well and there is the gorgeous dark hair, beautiful eyes and irish accent too. :)
Lucas has a hairy chest *high five* so I assume you are a fan?
You betcha. I admire plenty of naked chests but there is something so yummy about the light hair and the trail that leads… oh yeah the trail. sighs.
If you could shift into any animal, which would it be?
That’s a tough one actually. I think being a powerful feline would be killer fun but I have a weakness for Dragons so if I was in a fantasy world, I’d choose the dragon and fly like the wind.
