AAD Spotlight: Amanda Carlson and Giveaway

May 8, 2012

AAD, Amanda Carlson

Our Authors After Dark 2012 Spotlights continue with the hilarious and very talented Amanda Carlson. I admit I have a special love for anyone who outshines me in their love of bacon, the rooftop scene in Hangover, and the Madagascar penguins cartoon. Amanda burst on the scene with her action packed debut urban fantasy novella, Blooded, in 2012. Blooded grabbed everyone’s interest with the introduction of a snarky kick ass heroine named Jessica McClain. Jessica is a female werewolf born in a time when weres are only male. The pack fears Jessica to the point of violence and it’s only her father’s alpha status that keeps her alive. When the packs’ fear of her finally overrides their good sense, Jessica decides it’s time to stop playing nice.

Amanda Carlson resides in a galaxy far, far, away known as Minnesota, with her husband and three kids. Born and raised there, Amanda has been writing since high school, struggling to find her niche in the literary world. She comments on her blog that her first attempt at fiction was a contemporary romance, but that genre didn’t flow for her. After reading some YA urban fantasy, she suddenly knew where her passion for fiction writing had been hiding. It was inside the action packed pages of an Urban Fantasy novel. Kick ass heroines with super powers and a penchant for the unexpected is where Amanda was most comfortable. She claims that writing FULL BLOODED gave her the best of both worlds- kickass heroines and a love shifters of all kinds. Urban Fantasy is now her kink.

Full Blooded, the full novel follow up to Blooded, is set to release September 11, 2012, and promises to be a much needed series to add to your Urban Fantasy bookshelf.

Today, Amanda Carlson is going to give away an E-Book of Blooded! To enter, just leave a comment. Open to all through May 10.
