Anticipated Summer Reads
Summer is upon us and so are all the good books! BARREL PROOF releases August 7, along with audiobook versions of SINGLE MALT and CASK STRENGTH. While you’re enjoying AGENTS IRISH AND WHISKEY, I’ll be checking out a few of these highly anticipated reads on my summer to-be-read list:
On Point by Annabeth Albert – M/M Contemporary Romance (Carina Press, June 5, 2017) – Releasing this week, Annabeth’s Off Base series continues with SEAL teammates, Ben and Maddox, moving from best friends and roommates to something more. I got a sneak peek at an ARC of On Point, and it was so good I can’t wait to read it again.
Coach’s Challenge by Avon Gale – M/M Sports Romance (Dreamspinner Press, June 26, 2017) – I’m so looking forward to this next book in the Scoring Chances series. While not a hockey fan (yep, I’m one of those Southerners featured in this series), I enjoy Scoring Chances for the relationship aspects—friendships, teammates and romances that come and go as teams move and players trade. And because Avon’s wit and humor shines through her characters. I’m especially looking forward to the Asheville setting for Coach’s Challenge.
The Ruin of a Rake by Cat Sebastian – M/M Historical Romance (Avon Impulse, July 4, 2017) –I am still enamored with the first two books in this series, and I’m sure Ruin will only ruin me further. Featuring the rakish Lord Courtenay, who we met in the previous book, which I already gushed about in an earlier post, I can’t wait to read more of Cat’s masterfully balanced romance!
On sale today – Single Malt by Layla Reyne. I liked this one but it does end in a bit of a cliffhanger.
Eight months after the car crash that changed everything, FBI agent Aidan Talley is back at work. New department, new case and a new partner. Smart, athletic and handsome, Jameson Walker is twelve years his junior. Even if Aidan was ready to move on—and he’s not—Jamie is off-limits.
Jamie’s lusted after Aidan for three years, and the chance to work with San Francisco’s top agent directly is too good to pass up. Aidan is prickly—to put it mildly—but a growing cyber threat soon proves Jamie’s skills invaluable.
Jamie’s talents paint a target on his back, and Aidan is determined to protect him. But with hack after hack threatening a high-security biocontainment facility, time is running out to thwart a deadly terrorist attack. They’ll have to filter out distractions, on the case and in their partnership, to identify the real enemy, solve the case and save thousands of lives, including their own.
