News from Kini:
I had a semi-slow reading week. But I did manage to get some reading time in.
I had a short break in review books and read Preservation by Kate Canterbary. I believe this is the final book in this series and features the youngest brother, Riley and his love story. As always, Canterbary had me feeling all sorts of ways throughout the book. I strongly recommend this series.
I finished the 18+ hours of listening to Complicated by Kristen Ashley. Her writing tics are very apparent to me when I listen to the audio versions of her books. It is harder to skip over the things that annoy me. With that being said, I really enjoyed this book. Very reminiscent of The ‘Burg and Colorado Mountain series, but less suspenseful. All the good KA things are there- alpha hero, independent heroine, great kids, chosen family, and of course a wonderful love story.
I’m about halfway through Beginner’s Luck by Kate Clayborn. I am really into this, especially how hard the hero is falling for the heroine. Review to be posted soon.
News from Tori: I’m behind on my reviews so this past week was spent catching up. The Dog Walker’s Diary by Kathryn Donahue is an eccentric debut that delights but confounds. Review to come.
I’m currently reading Haven by Mary Lindsey. A nod to Twilight but with some gender-bending and a deeper understanding of the monsters that exist. Review to come. Next up is Ramses the Damned: Passion of Cleopatra by Anne Rice and Christopher Rice.
