Reviewers

Smexy Books was created in March of 2009 and reviews all genres of romance and urban fantasy. We currently have four reviewers:

Mandi - Mandi lives two lives. One at home with a husband and two boys. Another surrounded by romantic happily ever afters and sometimes if she is feeling daring, a dangerous urban fantasy world. She has collected numerous fictional boyfriends along the way that keep her quite busy. While she has many favorite authors, on her auto-buy list currently are Courtney Milan, Cara McKenna, Ilona Andrews, Nalini Singh and Marie Sexton….just to name a few.

Tori – I am a long time avid reader of any and all genres. Except westerns…westerns scare me. I adore bacon, dirty jokes, my family, and my pet pig Josie. I own an online store and freelance for publisher blogs. Some of my favorite authors are Ilona Andrews, Nalini Singh, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Jennifer Estep, and Anne Bishop.

Helyce -I have always loved to read. For me, it’s the ultimate escape from reality. A place I can go in my head, for just a little while, to ignore the stress of my day. I never leave the house without a book or my Nook. Some of my favorite authors are Lora Leigh, Sherrilyn Kenyon, JR Ward, Nalini Singh, Lorelei James, Marie Sexton, Megan Hart and Robyn Carr-way too many to list! I love to talk about books too!

May – It all started with reading Beverly Cleary’s book Fifteen when she was just a young awkward elementary school girl. May is always seeking books that leave her with a smile and a warm fuzzy “that book rocked my socks” kind of a feeling after the last page. Her first love is contemporary romance novels, but she also loves a good mystery, action/suspense, urban fantasy, and occasionally a historical story as well. TSTL characters and time travel are her deal breakers, and if she loves a book she will tell everyone she knows. She can be found curled up in her reading corner with a paperback as often as possible.

Sheena – Really- I blame my mother. As an only child, getting lost in worlds of fiction and fantasy was an absolute imperative for survival. I spent so much time alone that books became my personal little word  BFF’s!

My absolute favorite book is Flowers in the Attic by V.C. Andrews. The haunting (frightening?) beauty of Andrews’ writing just guts- no eviscerates me!. Some favorite authors of mine are Nalini Singh, J.R. Ward, K’wan, Philippa Gregory, Lara Adrian and Karen Marie Moning (For the LOVE of all things Seelie, I hope we have Burned in January 2015!!!).
You should also know that I have an -uh (not problem)… affinity for sexual innuendo…You leave that door cracked- even a sliver- and I’m coming in right behind you…
Sorry, sometimes it just slips out…
*sigh* I know ok!
