Favorite Quote: "Typical man. There are only two parts of his body he thinks with and neither of them is on his shoulders."

Alex Finley hasn’t had a very good life. Her father deserted her and her dying mother. When her father shows up at her mother’s funeral with his new "squeeze" in tow-Alex has had enough. She escapes to LA and a lifestyle she was never meant to live.

Ten years have passed and Alex decides it’s time to go home, face her father and claim her legacy. But she is too late. Her father has died and has left the ranch in trust for her and her younger brother. He also left a cowboy named Conner to run the ranch. While Alex wants Conner in her bed…she doesn’t want him in her life. When a neighboring rancher makes Alex an offer to sell her half the ranch; Alex must make a hard decision.  Can she let go of the past and accept a new family and lover? Or will she sell and run away once again?

In Beth Williamson’s uber sexy contemporary, Unbridled, we are introduced to Alex Finley. Her live in companion has just passed away and his kids want her out of the house.  In a very smexy steamy scene, Alex is "consoled" by two bi sexual male friends. Rawr! Alex then decides to go home. Back to Wyoming where she grew up.

When she arrives at the ranch a couple of surprises are waiting for her. The ranch is now a resort, her father has passed, she has a brother who owns half the resort, and the cowboy that heats her up runs it. Alex settles into life at the resort and tries to come to terms with her past. She also tries to comes to terms with Conner. The hot sexy cowboy that has Alex thinking of silk sheets and hot sex every time she sees him. The feeling is mutual but Conner has his own past and isn’t sure what Alex wants and if she’s what he needs.

This is the perfect book for a warm rainy day. A sexy erotic contemporary filled with sexy cowboys, steamy smexy scenes, and coming home. Alex is the smart mouth protagonist who’s sharp wit covers a wounded heart.  The scenes set up nicely and the dialog is smooth and flowing. Usually erotica for me comes off as clumsy and stilted; awkwardly interjected in the book. But in Unbridled they flow into the story naturally and you feel the passion and chemistry between Alex and Conner.

The suspense of the book builds up nicely though I do wish the villain had been introduced a little earlier to ensure more interaction between the heroine and him. The scenes with the villain almost doesn’t support the outcome. I like how Ms Williamson helps Alex resolve her inner conflicts. There are no "quick fixes" and Alex reacts to the whole situation in a believable way. Conner is smooth and sweet though at times he seems a tad incoherent. Interactions with Alex seem to leave him a speechless at times and over dramatic at others. The ending is a bit more dramatic then what I expected but wraps up everything nicely.

If your looking for a nice sweet contemporary with some "hot flavoring" to it then look no further.

Rating: 3.5/5

Great review, Tori! I would buy this one for the cover alone. How shallow is that, huh? ;) So, I'm glad it's also a good read. *g*

Lovely review (as always :) Mandi – thank you. I'm not a smart mouthed protagonist fan, so this probably isn't the book for me.

    This was Tori's review :)

I do think a smart-mouthed protagonist works…as long as it is not over the top
