Smexy’s Top Ten–September 9th

September 9, 2011 by Mandi 26 Comments

10. My Week – Kids are back to school. See how I said “kids” as in plural. Yes. Both kids are in school. What to do with myself? If hubs is reading this I’m cleaning, ironing, running errands and making a delicious dinner. Really. I swear. *shifty eyes*

9. Now through September, 19th, Pocket Books is offering Spider’s Bite, first book in this gritty, sexy Elemental Assassin series by USA Today Bestselling Author Jennifer Estep at $1.99. E-book Only! So, hurry now on this special offer and get a Sneak Peak on Spider’s Revenge, the long awaited book in the series where readers get to see the big showdown they’ve been craving!

Deliciously Sinful

8. Book alert – Oh yes girls and boys. Lilli Feisty has a new book coming out this November, Deliciously Sinful. Have you not read “The Feisty?” (I don’t know why I call her The Feisty..it works for me ;) Did I hear someone say no? She writes very fun, verra naughty books. After reading Bound to Please it took awhile before I could eat a strawberry without blushing. True story. Very excited for some more smutty action.

Shadow Kin (The Half-Light City, #1)

7. Shadow Kin by M.J. Scott came out this week, the first book in a new seriesI really enjoyed this one. It is a mix of urban fantasy, romance, and maybe a little steampunk. The heroine is an assassin, with an abusive past. She is a wraith that can turn into a shadow and slip through walls. The hero heals with the power of the sun – and he is a little more on the beta side. Great supporting characters and a really fun world. You can read my full review on Goodreads.

6. Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood #1) is coming out in hardcover October 4. To celebrate, JR Ward is doing a virtual signing. You can order your signed copy HERE.

Also – JR Ward is having an online chat with Christine Feehan, Friday September 16th at 8pm. The link will be posted on her facebook account closer to the date. I’ll be there. I recommend a strong drink and advil to get through the chat. They can be hard on the eyes ;)

5. Ann Aguirre just announced she has FIVE new books coming – From her site:

Author of Grimspace and Aftermath, Ann Aguirre’s new trilogy, pitched as Prison Break in space — on a prison ship filled with warring factions, hostile territories and savage retribution, only the strong survive, to Anne Sowards at Ace, in a three-book deal, for publication in beginning Fall 2013.

Ann Aguirre & Andres Aguirre writing as A.A. Aguirre’s BRONZE GODS, a steampunk fantasy wrapped around a whodunit, where gaslight detectives solve ritual slayings and magic is a shameful secret, to Anne Sowards at Ace, in a two-book deal.

4. Thanks to a tweet from Donna (part of the Moira Rogers writing team) we have this eye candy to stare at. Henry Cavill in his Superman outfit. I want to bite him *bites lip* Are all those muscles and umm….other parts….real? Oh Henry. I need a moment.

According to IMDB, Man of Steel releases 2013 with Amy Adams as Lois Lane (YAY!) and Russell Crowe as Jor-El. Oh Smexy likes. For more pics go HERE.

3.Schweddy Balls Ice Cream? Oh yes. It has malt balls in it. *giggles* Confused? One of the best SNL skits ever. Go HERE to see it.

2. The winner of the $10 giftcard that Tori put up for grabs in last week’s Top Ten List is: Brie. Congrats!

1. This weekend – I’m finishing up What a Duke Wants by Lavinia Kent (which I’m enjoying) and then I might start Midnight by Ellen Connor or maybe Lord of Rage by Jill Monroe.

Sunday I’m going to the Ravens season opener against our biggest rival, the Pittsburgh Steelers. Who we will crush and dominate! ;) Happy Friday!

Ooh – very nice new superman *G* Though there has to be some padding in a certain area of that suit – all the other parts of him are so detailed, yet that area is oddly smooth.

Oh yes, Henry Cavill is soooo delicius… Hope they remember him when it’s time to cast Barrons …
Lover Mine in hard cover? YEY!! I just finished Envy last night, the best one in the Angel series so far I think, Veck is so hot, but also very lonely and vulnerable inside, I just want to hug him!! When is the Smexy review coming?
That BJ/SNL ice cream sounds good… Got to love a company with good humor…

How nice to have both your kiddos in school! It’ll be years before I get to that point. LOL

Wait, what? Dark Lover is coming out in hardcover? Isn’t that a bit backwards?

Well – they are going back and rereleasing the ones that have only come out in PB. This way if you want, you can have them all in hardcover – so they look nicer on your shelf. LOL.

Now, if only we could get Ben & Jerry’s to come out with a Steel Balls flavor, in honor of Henry. I’d gobble gallons of that down fast than a speeding bullet. :)

I have Lord of Rage in my TBR pile for the weekend too. I was let down by Lord of the Vampires, so I haven’t been in a big hurry to continue with the series… though I guess that’s not fair, since it is a totally different author.

Hmm… the new Superman isn’t really lighting my fire…

Oooh! But I can tell you that I read Spider’s Revenge and the big battle did not disappoint! I love Gin.

Superman looks kind of naked without the red briefs… I don’t really care though, we need more naked superheroes IMO.

I am so going to have to try that ice cream!

It was tough watching the Ravens v Steelers game for me – wanted them both to lose! LOL I have the PATS tonight!

Isn’t it nice having both kids gone?! I still freak a little and look around for my girl, but she’s doing great. I’m back to work – 3 days a week, so I spend the other days… all that hard work, like you said!
