Because of You Blog Tour and Giveaway

November 10, 2011 by Mandi 65 Comments

I’m excited to host the Because of You by Jessica Scott Blog Tour today. This is the debut release for the Loveswept digital line.  I’ve read this military romantic suspense and I really enjoyed it. Full of angst, and tons of action and what comes to be a sweet romance. The supporting characters in this book are great too. I’ll be posting my review soon. I’m already dying for book two ;)

Today, you have the chance to learn a little more about the book and the author, Jessica Scott as well as a chance to win the book.

THE COMING HOME SERIES – by Author, Jessica Scott

Title: Because of You

Setting: Fort Hood Texas/Iraq

Subgenre: Contemporary Romance

Hero: Shane Garrison

Heroine: Jen St James

One sentence summary: The toughest battle Shane Garrison will ever

face is loving Jen St James.

Scene you like most and would never cut: The scene where Jen finally

trusts Shane enough to be comfortable with him unclothed. Although BECAUSE OF YOU is very sexy, Jen resists total nudity during their intimacies.

Tell us something unique about your hero? Shane is bald.

Heroine: She is a breast cancer survivor.

What is your heroines occupation: Jen is a nurse at Fort Hood’s main

Hospital.

What is your heroes occupation: Shane is an Army infantry sergeant

What you think readers will like best about this book: The emotional struggles the characters deal with, as well as, getting a glimpse into army life. The relationship is hot & volatile which propels you through the story.

What’s next: Back To You, a book about learning how to be a husband again after coming home from war, and after that, Until There Was You, where the characters also are healing from the scars of war. THE COMING HOME SERIES, deals with the emotional demons soldiers deal with when they return home, which can range from adjusting to family situations to dealing with physical disabilities – the series delivers it all & lots of sex too!

imageAbout Jessica:

1. What’s your favorite movie of all time? Super Troopers or maybe Heartbreak Ridge.

2. What’s your favorite kind of story to get lost in? a good post apocalyptic journey that shows mankind at its worst and still, goodness triumphs

3. What’s the first book you remember reading? Fish is Fish

4. What’s your favorite fairy tale? I don’t think I have one. If I had to pick one, it would be the Boy Who Cried Wolf.

5. What’s your favorite cartoon character? Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon

6. What’s something you’d like to tell your readers? my life is chaos but I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world

7. What would your occupation be if you were no longer a writer? an army officer. I’ve got two of the best jobs in the world: I love them both

8. What do you do to unwind and relax? um, relax? What is this relax you speak of. Command takes everything I’ve got and then I’ve got to get home and do it all again with the kids. But to relax, I either go to the bookstore or get a massage

9. Tea or Coffee? And how do you take it? Coffee. Any way I can get it, but preferably with chocolate protein powder and andes candies for a protein shake

10. What does love mean to you? Love doesn’t come with a but. It means through good times and the bad.

11. Which era would you least like to have lived in, fashion-wise and why? Most? Post Bellum South. Corsets anyone?

12. What name have you been dying to use as a lead character, but haven’t found the right fit yet? Reza. Though I think I may have found the story for him.

13. Dog person or cat person? Both. I have 3 dogs and 3 cats. My family is insane.

Keeping his men alive is all that matters to Sergeant First Class Shane Garrison. But meeting Jen St. James the night before his latest deployment makes Shane wonder if there’s more to life than war. He leaves for Iraq remembering a single kiss with a woman he’ll never see again—until a near fatal attack lands him back at home and in her care.

Jen has survived her own brush with death and endured its scars. And yet there’s a fire in Shane that makes Jen forget all about her past. He may be her patient, but when this warrior looks her in the eyes, she feels—for the first time in a long time—like a woman. Shane is too proud to ask for help, but for Jen, caring for him is more than a duty—it’s a need. And as Jen guides Shane through the fires of healing, she finds something she never expected—her deepest desire.
