News from Mandi: Anything but Broken by Joelle Knox is a really good NA! Joelle Knox = Kit Rocha/Moira Rogers. It’s their first contemporary and while not as erotic as their Kit Rocha series, it’s sexy and angsty and I enjoyed. Review to come.

Here Comes Trouble by Anna J Stewart is a romantic suspense (sort of) but it was verrrry slow. And the romance didn’t spark. Review to come

Playing for her Heart by Megan Erickson is a nerdy, cosplay romance which is cute There are some deeper issues that I think could have used more page time to explore and have time to really cement the romance. Review to come.

News From Tori: No internet for 4 days gave me time to catch up on my reading. Of course, I went straight to my personal TBR rather then my review TBR because that is how I roll. I blame authors for this because if they didn’t write such wonderful books, I wouldn’t be as behind as I am now. *shakes fist at all the authors*

If You Only Knew by Kristan Higgins–A different voice for Higgins as she chooses to make the romance more of an element of the story than the main component. Enjoyable though that essential spark that makes Higgins’s stories so delish was missing in here. I also wasn’t a fan of the heroine’s love interest. Review to come.

When A Scott Ties The Knot by Tessa Dare–An absolutely adorable marriage of convenience between a shy young woman and a war weary veteran.

The Highwayman by Kerrigan Byrne–The feelz never stop in this emotionally heartbreaking story about star crossed lovers separated as children and their journey back to one another.

Burn by J.C. Emery–Dark and violent, Emery takes some very serious subject matter and divulges into the darkness that surrounds a damaged man and woman.

Reaper’s Fall by Joanna Wylde–Set up to happen simultaneously during Silver Bastards, Wylde choses this book to transition readers into a new arc while chronicling a destructive romance between a hardened biker and the girl who made the mistake of falling for him. My review will appear in the NOV issue of RT Book Review Magazine.

Execution Style by Lani Lynn Vale–Always a cracky read, I found this one didn’t engage me as much as her others. The romance was a bit weak and the storyline jumped shark more than normal.

The Truth About Him by Molly O’Keefe–The sequel to Everything I Never Said wraps up the storyline beautifully though the focus shifts dramatically from the romance to the suspense with surprising results but much less smexytimes. My review will appear in the NOV issue of RT Book Review Magazine.

Begging For It by Lilah Pace– A tense suspense filled mystery only heightens the sexuality of the characters and the story as Pace gives readers the much anticipated sequel to her brilliant debut-Asking For It.

Hardy by Sam Crescent–More of my cracky reads. I’ve waited for Hardy and Rose’s story for awhile as their romance and demise has been chronicled through the series. Enjoyable as always though Rose bothered me with her mixed signals and general whininess.

This weekend I’m reading Violated by Jamie Fessenden.

Definitely going to check out the Megan Erickson book. I love cosplay and am intrigued by the premise. I’ve heard many awesome things about The Highwayman and When a Scot Ties the Knot so I can’t wait until they are released.
