In the wild and untamed West, it takes cowboy’s embrace to see you through a long winter’s night. Stay toasty this holiday season with heart-warming tales from bestselling authors Leigh Greenwood, Rosanne Bittner, Linda Broday, Margaret Brownley, Anna Schmidt, and Amy Sandas.
Which one of your characters has the most holiday spirit? Who has the least?
Leigh Greenwood: Both are in my Christmas novella “Bah, Humbug!” Nate Jerome hates Christmas because he spends his entire year creating, planning, and making Christmas commercials. Milly Thurston loves Christmas because it was the day her parents were rescued, later married, and it was her birthday.
Rosanne Bittner: All the characters in A CHICK-A-DEE CHRISTMAS have the holiday spirit, but the hero’s (Jake Harkner) is the most touching because this is a man who was once a ruthless outlaw who never celebrated Christmas and didn’t know a thing about faith and God.
Linda Broday: Sidalee King does by far. She loves Christmas and everything about it from the festive colors, to the baking and decorating the huge Christmas tree the Legend family has shipped in. The whole ranch gathers to decorate it. Then they all stand in a circle holding hands and singing.
Hank Destry is the least cheery. In fact, he hasn’t celebrated the holiday for ten years. Christmas is empty for him without someone to spend it with. All his family is dead so it’s just him and he sees no joy in being alone…until Sidalee takes him in hand and teaches him what Christmas is truly about.
Margaret Brownley: In “A Texas Ranger for Christmas,” Cole brings the holiday spirit into the house by way of a Christmas tree. It’s not that Sadie doesn’t like Christmas; it just brings back too many unpleasant memories. Cole’s just the person to help her overcome an ill-fated past with new and happy memories, but it will take time and a whole lot of loving.
Anna Schmidt: Amanda Porterfield—in every story in this series, Amanda is the one who lifts everyone’s spirits.
Amy Sandas: In my holiday story, “A Christmas Reunion,” Honey Prentice is definitely the character with the most holiday spirit. Perhaps because she is so determined to make the season bright, and beautiful and full of love and warmth for her daughter, she so easily sends that same generosity out to include everyone around her. From her holiday decorations to the annual feast she organizes, Honey makes sure the holiday spirit is shared by all.
Though there might some members in her brother’s gang who have a bah-humbug attitude, I doubt they would dare to show it.

This sounds like a great holiday read. It’s the best time of year for anthologies!

I bought this for my mom as an early Christmas present. She loves historical westerns.
