Midnight Alias by Elle Kennedy (Killer Instincts #2) Romantic Suspense February 5, 2013 Berkley Reviewed by Mandi I really enjoy Elle Kennedy’s Out of Uniform series she writes for Samhain so when I saw she was writing a romantic suspense series, I thought I’d give book two a try. It didn’t quite do it for me though. The book starts out strong. Due to her mom’s cancer and huge medical bills, Olivia had to drop out of college and work to pay all the bills. When her friends offers Continue Reading
Review: How Beauty Saved the Beast by Jax Garren
How Beauty Saved the Beast by Jax Garren (tales of the Underlight #2) February 11, 2013 Paranormal Romance Carina Press I’m a sucker for an ugly hero, so when part one came out a few months ago I had to gobble it up. You can read the review here. This book picks up a few months later. Hauk was burned badly, leaving massive scarring on his body. He is blamed for the deaths of fellow soldiers, and has now taken refuge in Austin’s Underlight, a group of people that live Continue Reading

Smexy’s Top Ten–February 8th
10. I’m completely obsessed with the Lizzie Bennett Diary videos. Beyond obsessed. Unfamiliar? They are a modern adaption of Pride & Prejudice told in Vlog style. Completely adorable and they capture the book so well. Darcy and his awkward flirting makes me die swooning. There are currently 86 episodes and each one is 3-4 minutes long. We are getting towards the end, as Wickham and Lydia’s drama is now unfolding. *bites lip* This above gif make me smile so much. Yes Darcy – Continue Reading
Review: Going Under by Lauren Dane
Going Under by Lauren Dane (Bound by Magick #3) February 5, 2013 Paranormal Romance Berkley Reviewed by Mandi I recently discovered this series and read the first two books and really enjoyed them. Lauren Dane has created a really nice paranormal world mostly filled with witches, but other supernaturals as well. While each book features a new hero and heroine, the world has been building up the past two books. This book really dives into what would happen if witches were Continue Reading
Review: Sold to the Enemy by Sarah Morgan
Sold to the Enemy by Sarah Morgan January 22, 2013 Contemporary Romance Harlequin Reviewed by Mandi From the outside looking in, Selene Antaxos appears to have the perfect life. Rich, lives on an island with a wealthy father, many think she is living the dream. But inside this dream is a scary reality. Her father is extremely over-protective and controlling. To the point that Selene and her mother are never allowed to leave the house (except for approved public appearances). Continue Reading
DNF Review: Rush by Maya Banks
Rush by Maya Banks (Breathless #1) Erotic Contemporary February 5, 2013 Berkley Reviewed by Mandi Maya Banks has a new trilogy releasing following three billionaires who run swanky hotels. Although I’m a little tired of the billionaire hero, the blurbs intrigued me so I thought I’d give book one, Rush a try. Let me say this – sometimes having an asshole hero can be fun. Take Tack for example (Motorcycle Man by Kristen Ashley). He is initially rude to the heroine, arrogant, Continue Reading
Review: One Good Earl Deserves a Lover by Sarah MacLean
One Good Earl Deserves a Lover by Sarah MacLean (The Rules of Scoundrels #2) January 29, 2013 Historical Romance Avon Reviewed by Mandi I found the set-up in the beginning of this book to be so far-fetched that I could not buy into it, therefore setting a frustrating tone for this book. Pippa is engaged to be married to an Earl. It is not a love match, rather she is the last of her sisters to get married and her father thinks she will do well by this man. He is a kind man, but Continue Reading
