Hello friends! I can’t believe it’s October. While Fall is my favorite season of all, l am not looking forward to the Holidays and the stress that comes with it. I hope to escape into my reading and will probably do way too much procrastinating resulting in more stress. It’s a freaking vicious circle. But for now, I had a decent reading week: A Firefighter’s Christmas Gift by Vivian Arend Holidays in Heart Falls #1 Romance (Novella) September 11, 2018 Self Published I don’t usually Continue Reading

Helyce’s Thursday Thoughts
Happy Thursday everyone. Since Monday, I have been counting down the days till Friday and the weekend. In my town, it’s the annual Art & Wine festival. Beer, wine, food and vendors selling their wares. I look forward to walking around and running into friends I used to see everyday but don’t anymore now that my kids are out of school. The weather should be good and it’ll be nice to be outside after being cooped up at work for the week. One Perfect Kiss by Jaci Burton (Hope Continue Reading
Helyce’s Thursday Thoughts on Maverick by Cheryl Brooks
Hello friends, it has not been a good reading week. I had 4 books drop on 9/4 and I only read one and a half. I had high hopes of relaxing and reading over my Labor Day Weekend, but it just didn’t work out that way for me. I’m more hopeful for the upcoming weekend. My kids have settled in to their college routines and have their own plans for the weekend, my hubby also has plans for the weekend, so I’m crossing my fingers for some reading and me time. Maverick by Cheryl Brooks (Cat Continue Reading

Review: All the Way by Kristen Proby
All The Way by Kristen Proby (Romancing Manhattan #1)Contemporary RomanceReleased: August 21, 2018William Morrow Paperbacks I’ve wanted to read Proby for a while as I’ve always heard good things. As this was a first book in a new series, I thought I’d get in at the beginning, rather than playing catch up with some of her older works. The first thing I do when I sit to write a review is to re-read what I’ve highlighted and any notes that I made while reading. Sometimes, I open that feature Continue Reading
Helyce’s Thursday Thoughts
Hello fellow readers! This last week has been fraught with negativity in the land of romance. I think I’ve experienced every emotion there is. I have loved reading for as long as I can remember. I loved reading so much, I’d sneak into the library at recess. My parents got a call one day from my school because I hadn’t returned to the classroom and they couldn’t find me. Guess where I was? I was in the school’s library, sitting cross-legged on the floor between the bookshelves...happily reading Continue Reading
Helyce’s Thursday Thoughts & Things
Hello! So, last week my family and I ventured north for our annual camping (glamping more like with showers and flushing toilets) trip at a little lake with a group of people who we’ve been doing this little trip with for the last 6 years. The original group was huge-like 35 families and we’d pretty much take over this place; but as kids got older, that group has dwindled down to about 10 families. My kids love the lake, so we’ve stuck it out over the years for them. This year was fun but not Continue Reading
Helyce’s Thursday Thoughts: Summer is almost over…
I can’t believe it’s August already. In a little over two weeks, my daughter will return to college for her sophomore year. I had high expectations that college would mark some kind of turning point for her, and it did in small ways, but not to the extent I’d hoped. I’m crossing my fingers that she is ready to take on new challenges, be a little braver and have a more positive experience. My son will be a senior in college and he’s ready to be done with school-but I don’t think he really has Continue Reading
Helyce’s Thursday Trials
Fellow book lovers, I’m sorry to report that I have nothing new to review today. Last week, my sister was in Las Vegas for a work related seminar. Since she lives on Maui and doesn’t come to the ‘mainland’ very often so I decided to take a few days off and meet up with her. Dreams of lazy days by the pool with an umbrella topped alcoholic beverage and reading for hours and hours while my poor sister was stuck in her seminar was all I could think about. Add to that the fact that she was booked Continue Reading
