Review: Figure of Speech by Dana Marie Bell
Figure of Speech (Halle Shifters #4) by Dana Marie Bell Paranormal Romance Released March 3, 2015 Samhain Publishing Reviewed by Sheena Differently-abled heroes and heroines have been a long under-served population in romantic fiction. I was pleased to see that in Figure of Speech, the heroine, Chloe, has a speech impediment of sorts, the result of a brutal, near fatal attack she endured, barely escaping with her life. Bravely deciding to move forward and reclaim her life, she is Continue Reading
Review: The Fighter and the Fallen Woman by Pamela Cayne
The Fighter and The Fallen Woman Released: March 9, 2015 Historical Romance Carina Press Reviewed by Mandi This book has a great cover, and a great premise and a great blurb. A debut author to boot. The actual story has good things and some things that frustrated me. Let me set it up. Blurb: In twelve years as a bangtail, Lady has never feared a man's kiss. Owned by the ruthless Hannibal Adams, the "Earl of the East End," she's draped in jewels and dead inside. Lady learns fear, Continue Reading
Review: First Time in Forever by Sarah Morgan
First Time in Forever by Sarah Morgan (Puffin Island #1) Released: February 24, 2015 Contemporary Romance Harlequin Reviewed by Mandi This is the first book in Sarah Morgan's Puffin Island series and I'm not in love with it. I loved, loved, loved her last trilogy, O'Neill brothers and not to compare to that one - but I'm totally going to compare to that one. This book felt a little forced. Let me set it up before I get more into it. Emily has been working hard in New York City until Continue Reading
Review: Once and Always by Julia Harper
Once and Always by Julia Harper Releases: February 24, 2015 Contemporary Romance Forever Reviewed by Mandi I'm a big fan of Elizabeth Hoyt's historical Maiden Lane series so when I heard she was starting a new contemporary series under the name Julia Harper, I perked up. Unfortunately, I want to go back to Maiden Lane and leave the town of Coot Lake, Minnesota. I love a big snow storm in a romance book. It makes me feel cozy and there is always a cabin involved where the hero and Continue Reading

We get a tiny peek at a future heroine in this book as she is Continue Reading

Review: Guilty Pleasures and The Pleasure Principle by Jane O’Reilly
Jane O'Reilly writes very erotic novellas, and she often times reminds me of Charlotte Stein. I think if she had longer to tell her story, I would really fall for her voice (I think both of these stories are less than 100 pages). The sex is hot, yet I need a little more time to really engage with her characters. If you are looking for quick, very steamy reads, she might just be the author for you. The following two novellas can be read as standalones. My favorite of hers is Continue Reading
