Smexy’s Top Ten–May 13th
10. My Week – Well, I saw Thor on Mother’s Day. Happy day to Smexy indeed. I went with the intent of drooling over Chris Hemsworth, but I actually ended up loving the movie (I drooled a lot too). A really fun story. And Thor’s blue eyes and scruffy smile didn’t hurt either ;) Later in the week, I found myself alone in Walmart in the toy aisle perusing the Thor merchandise. I might need a Thor action figure for a future skit. He will represent one of the BDB boys, right? 9. Thursday May 26th, Continue Reading

Guest Review: Past Midnight by Jasmine Haynes
Past Midnight by Jasmine Haynes Erotic Romance May 3, 2011 Trade Paperback Berkley Heat Guest Reviewed by Helyce. Find her on Goodreads. Past Midnight was not what I expected. The back blurb made me want to read it, but I was saddened when I realized the tragedy was the death of a child. I kind of had to step outside of myself and read this without inflicting my personal morals and beliefs where commitment and relationships are concerned. After all, everyone deals with the tragedy Continue Reading

Review: Die For Me by Amy Plum
Die For Me (Revenants #1) by Amy Plum Paranormal YA May 10, 2011 Hardcover HarperTeen Reviewed by Tori Favorite Quote: “You’re the one who took a bite of the apple Kate. Although with a serpent that handsome, I can’t say I blame you.” I was very surprised and pleased by how much I enjoyed Die For Me by Amy Plum. A very romantic and intriguing YA that captures the youthful voice of her characters exceptionally well without miring it down with the often present emo angst and ‘woe is Continue Reading
Review: Etched in Bone by Adrian Phoenix
Etched In Bone (The Makers Song #4) by Adrian Phoenix Urban Fantasy February 22, 2011 Paperback Pocket Reviewed by Tori Favorite Quote: “Each of us is shaped by the truth of our natures.” Etched In Bone is the 4th book in Ms. Phoenix’s Makers Song series. Short in terms of a timeline (everything takes place in approximately 3-4 days) but deep in emotional turmoil and angst. I recommend starting at the beginning-A Rush Of Wings- because the over all arc and it’s intertwining sub Continue Reading
Mandi’s Little Rant About Hard Bitten
**Spoilers about Hard Bitten by Chloe Neill and the series in general** I’ve been contemplating why I didn’t like the end of Hard Bitten by Chloe Neill (book 4 in her Chicagoland Vampire series). I talked about it a bit in my review, but didn’t want to go into it too much before release date. Now the book has been out a week and I need to rant again. There is a huge cliffhanger at the end and it has really bothered me. For the most part I do like cliffhangers in most urban Continue Reading
