Angela’s Most Anticipated for 2023

January 4, 2023 by Angela

Contemporary Romance: The Fraud Squad by Kyla Zhao 1/17/2023- I love this cover, also... A working-class woman who infiltrates Singapore’s high society to fulfill her dreams risks losing everything in the process—including herself—in this propulsive novel by debut author Kyla Zhao. A Thousand Miles to Graceland 1/24/2023- This seems more like WF to me, but beehives and sequins for the win. The journey of a thousand miles begins with sequins and a beehive wig in this sharply Continue Reading

Smexy’s July 2022 TBR

July 11, 2022 by Angela

Angela- I jumped ahead on my July ARCs way early, I think I read some of these in March/April. There are SO many great books releasing this month. I'm heading to the beach for July 4th and hoping for lots of quiet reading time. Dream On by Angie Hockman 7/5 Contemporary Romance/WF - I've read this one already and REALLY enjoyed it. I compared it in my review to While You Were Sleeping just with a heroine who wakes from a coma having dreamed about one brother only to fall for the other Continue Reading

Melanie’s Favorites of 2021

December 31, 2021 by Melanie

When I started going through all my 5 star reads for 2021, I was pleasantly surprised that of the 141 books I've read as of this moment, I had well over 40 that were 5 star reads. Either I was just really fast and loose with the 5 stars this year or I had a really great reading year. I'm betting it's the latter. I've managed to narrow the list down further by focusing on 24 5 star titles that were all published in 2021. So, here are my absolute favorite reads of 2021! Contemporary: The Continue Reading

Angela’s Favorites of 2021

December 29, 2021 by Angela

This year I focused my energy on reading whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. There were a lot of review books, but I also finally tackled some of my TBR and dove into the Kindle Unlimited world. Fantasy and Science Fiction romance seemed to be what I kept picking up over and over. Looking back over my Goodreads shelves I read a whopping 46 'aliens have abducted me, now what do I do?' books. I basically blazed a trail through the sub-genre and kept going back for more. Here are some of the Continue Reading

Interior decorator Zoe Ryan’s life resembles a bad country song. Her boyfriend dumped her, her car died, and she was recently handed a pink slip. What’s a girl to do? Leave everything behind for a bit....in Positano, Italy. And when she gets there, she finds a surprising extra—millionaire restaurateur Dante Sabbatini in the kitchen. In his underwear. Making coffee. It’s suddenly not only hot outside, but exactly what is he doing inside, in her temporary kitchen? Dante’s plan was to Continue Reading

Smexy’s October TBR

October 4, 2021 by Angela

Angela- It's October! Yay! I'm so ready for fall weather and end-of-the-year releases. Also, I'm gearing up for all the best of and favorite lists. I have a few books I'm excited for this month (a couple I've already read, but want to make sure they are on your radar). The Brightest Star in Paris by Diana Biller 10/12 Historical Romance- I've been looking forward to a new Diana Biller since the moment I finished The Widow of Rose House. I hear this one is quite emotional and I'm here for Continue Reading

Smexy Deals!

August 2, 2021 by Angela

A horrifying secret rises in the aftermath of an archangelic war in New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh’s deadly and beautiful Guild Hunter world. . . . The Archangel of Death and the Archangel of Disease may be gone but their legacy of evil lives on—especially in Africa, where the shambling, rotting creatures called the reborn have gained a glimmer of vicious intelligence. It is up to Titus, archangel of this vast continent, to stop the reborn from spreading Continue Reading
