My second favorite obsession after reading is The Killers. I love every single song they have come out with…through four albums.

1. Hot Fuss – June 2004

Let me introduce the band:

Mark Stoermer – Bass, Ronnie Vannucci Jr – Percussion, Brandon Flowers – Vocalist and Keyboardist, Dave Keuning – Guitar.

Best of all – husband got me tickets to see The Killers in concert May 8th for my b-day!!!!

Actually, I kind of bought the tix..our conversation went something like this:

Me: Husband, I really want to go to a Killers concert for my b-day
Husband : ok, sure whatever
Me: ok (runs over to computer)
Me: *five min later* Yay, I bought tix
Husband: Oh, wow, that was quick..who are you taking with you?
Me: ummm….you, my loser friends don’t like the Killers
Husband: *starts to frown* Do I like The Killers??
Me: Oh sure, don’t worry, you do (psst – he really doesn’t)
Me: By the way, the closest place they are playing is 2.5 hours away
Me: Oh, and they were totally sold out so I had to go to ebay and buy tix that were 3 times what the original cost was.
Husband: *rolls eyes, frowns deeper*
Me: Oh, and I got Pit tix, so that means we need to get there at least four hours early to get in line so we can be front and center
Me: Oh, and it is on a Friday so you need to take an entire day of work off
Me: One more thing, I am going to ogle Brandon Flowers’ butt the entire time…

Ok, so I didn’t say the very last line..but, srsly, I am soooo going to act like a fan girl in front of Brandon. He is not alpha male hot..but, kind of nerdy hot. Like when he tries to dance on stage. He has an amazing voice…and obviously I think he has amazing songs. So I will go to NJ and sing my ass off, hopefully husband will find it somewhat fun…he doesn’t have a choice in the matter:)

Here is Read My Mind, performed at T in the Park (a huge music festival held in Scotland every year). This is tied for my fav song. BTW – how cool is T in the Park – 85,000 people screaming at the top of their lungs. I seriously had a moment, when I realized The Killers would be headlining the 2009 festival, that I thought – I am going…it is that simple. So simple, until I realized, first, my brother is getting married that day, second, tix sold out in 10 hrs, third, how would I get husband there? He does want to go to Europe….so, here is how the conversation might have gone:

Me: Husband, let’s go on vacation to Europe!!
Husband: *after much deliberation* OK, sounds great!
*we arrive in Scotland*
Me: By the way husband, we are going to spend the next three days in a tent, in a big field with 85,000 other people…but guess what..The Killers will be here!!!!

Yeah – I don’t think he would have gone for it :)
