Why Twlight, Why!?!

March 24, 2009 by Mandi

Why am I obsessed with Twilight? I don’t want to be…but it keeps drawing me in time and time again. I enjoyed the books, at least the first three. In my opinion, there was so much wrong with Breaking Dawn, I wish I had never read it. I couldn’t stand the pregnancy storyline, or Jacob bonding with the baby. And the ending? Let’s just stand around and talk to the bad vampires…no fighting, no blood?? I know it is Young Adult fiction, but I needed something else.

Anyway, back to my obsession….why? Why did I have to pre-order the dvd? Let’s face it, the movie was a cheesy doodle. Its only saving grace is Robert Pattinson. Do I hear a THUD (that is the sound of me falling on the floor because I can’t take his smexiness) I’m sorry, but he is one fine looking man. A little short..but the hair, and those eyes…He definitely puts the “exy” in my smexy.

Why do I feel the need to purchase shirts that say “I Love Boys That Sparkle, ” or have a big picture of Edward across my chest (not a bad place for him to be btw). Why, oh why, did I buy an Edward action figure –ok, there was a bit of alcohol involved when I ordered him, but I was completely sober when he came in the mail (thank you again mr. ups man) and walked around my house finding a good place for him. He is now the guardian of my books. I still find myself scanning the web for pictures of them shooting New Moon, and I know I will be at the theaters November 21st with all the other 13 yrs olds.

There are rumors that some of my other favorite series will be made into movies – The Fever series by Karen Marie Moning, Outlander by Diana Gabladon, and the Anita Blake series by Laurell K Hamilton. If they ever do get made into movies, maybe I will revert to an obsessed teenager once again. Until then, I have three more Twilight movies to get through…three more movies to drain my credit card, embarrass my friends…and most importantly, to THUD at Robert Pattinson.

I think the first movie wasn't sooo good because of lack of budget. But I totally agree with you on Breaking Dawn. I am soooo excited to see New Moon when it comes out in November!
