Ladies, it’s my two days with you before Mandi gets back – Yes, This isn’t Mandi.
So I have ransacked a few home libraries and I have six books up for grab – I have put a little of everything there. I initially posted this as a 24hrs giveaway – but I am going to run this until Monday 5pm.
Have fun……
(1) Who will be the last unmarried man standing?
No man in his right mind would want to get married, but every duke, earl, and viscount knows that a fellow must do his duty in the end. So four of London’s most desirable gentlemen make a wager—the prize going to the one who remains unwed the longest.
Gideon Pearsall, Viscount Warton, thinks he has a fair shot at winning. After all, he’s managed to enjoy the favors of many a lady while resisting the parson’s noose. Even when he’s stopped dead in his tracks by the most scandalous woman in all of London—Judith, Lady Chester—he vows to have her bedded but never wedded.
Beautiful, and more than a little bit naughty, Judith has always kept herself within the bounds of respectability, even while playing by her own rules. And the experience has taught her to avoid marriage. She has no desire to resist Warton’s hot kisses, and his tempting touch is impossible to ignore.
But soon both Judith and Gideon can’t help but wonder . . . is it possible to be a little bit wicked and still follow your heart
(2) Amelia Lockwood doesn’t mean to sound greedy. With a fabulous career in television, a posh apartment, and four fiercely loyal and wickedly funny friends, she knows she should be counting her lucky stars. But as her thirties tick by at an alarming pace, Amelia is getting anxious about the one thing missing in her otherwise successful life—a husband!
If it’s not too much to ask the universe, Amelia wants a husband—not a boyfriend, not a lover, not even a mind-bending one-night fling—but a wedding band and the Vera Wang gown of her dreams. When she sees an ad for a night course entitled How to Find a Husband over the Age of Thirty-five, she finally makes up her mind to have it all—an old-fashioned ring on her finger by the end of the year. So after twenty years of going it on her own, Amelia swallows her pride, signs up for dating boot camp, and enlists the help of a professional.
Enter Ira Vandergelder—a native New Yorker with a black belt in tongue-fu, a woman who’s snappier than a crocodile handbag and more acidic than a chili finger dipped in your eye—who trains the hopelessly romantic Amelia to apply business marketing principles to the world of dating, to become goal-driven and to pursue her dream husband in exactly the same way she’d pursue her dream job. Even if this involves tracking down all the men she’s ever loved and lost before.
(3) Phillippa Benning is the unrivaled beauty of the Season. But when another lady challenges her for a marquis’s attentions, Phillippa entices him to a secret rendezvous – only to stumble upon The Blue Raven, England’s most famous spy, lurking at the site of her planned tryst.
The Blue Raven has uncovered an enemy plot directed at upcoming society functions, but he’s unable to infiltrate London society. Phillippa makes an offer: in exchange for entrée among the ton, he agrees to have his true identity revealed at the Benning Ball – guaranteeing her unrivaled notoriety. As the danger draws closer, the mysterious spy and Phillippa give in to mutual desire. But when the game turns deadly, betrayal waits around the corner, and Phillippa must decide once and for all – is it the myth that captured her heart, or the man?
(4) Juggling the demands of her yarn shop and single-handedly raising a teenage daughter has made Georgia Walker grateful for her Friday Night Knitting Club. And when the unthinkable happens, these women will discover that what they’ve created isn’t just a knitting club–its a sisterhood.
(5) In the quiet hamlet of Yorkshire, the hallowed halls of Burndale School stand…and evil lurks in its dark corners. For a serial killer with a proclivity for blonde women has struck again – this time, murdering two of its teachers. Now everyone is wondering when the killer will seek his next victim…Elizabeth Canham has accepted a teaching position at the local boarding school in Yorkshire. But her quiet life takes a surprising turn when she meets Griffin Fairfax – the handsome father of one of her pupils. His mesmerizing stare quickly draws her in, and she can’t deny the fierce attraction between them…Griffin Fairfax appears to be a doting father and gentleman. But one disturbing truth lies at the heart of the murders – all of the victims were intimately connected to him. When Elizabeth discovers this, she wonders if it’s a mere coincidence or if Griffin could be a charming, seductive killer so many women have lost their hearts – and lives – to…
(6) Box Set
Four best friends, one pair of jeans and a few important rules:
1. You must never wash the Pants.
2. You must never double-cuff the Pants. It’s tacky. There will never be a time when this will not be tacky.
3. You must never say the word ‘phat’ while wearing the Pants. You must also never think ‘I am fat’ while wearing the Pants.
4. You must never let a boy take off the Pants (although you may take them off yourself in his presence).
5. You must not pick your nose while wearing the Pants. You may, however, scratch casually at your nostril while really kind of picking.Carmen, Tibby, Lena and Bridget have been best friends all their lives. They live in the same small American town and usually spend every moment of their long summer holidays together. The year they turn 16 is the first time they have separate plans for the summer but the girls are determined to keep in touch. Tibby buys a pair of jeans in a second-hand shop and the girls discover that the trousers magically fit each of them perfectly, despite their different figures and heights. They hit upon a wonderful plan of sharing the jeans throughout the vacation – sending them on to the next friend when they feel the time is right. From Baja California to Greece, from film-making to football, the girls – and the traveling pants – encounter first love, family upset and fatal illness. Secure in the knowledge that their friendship is constant – and the symbol of it need never be more than a parcel-delivery away – the girls survive their summer and return home with a wealth of new experiences to share. A perfect teen-chick summer read; a quirky, humorous and memorable cut above the rest.
With a bit of last summer’s sand in the pockets, the Traveling Pants and the Sisterhood that wears them embark on their 16th summer.
Bridget: Impulsively sets off for Alabama, wanting to both confront her demons about her family and avoid them all at once.
Lena: Spends a blissful week with Kostos, making the unexplainable silence that follows his visit even more painful.
Carmen: Is concerned that her mother is making a fool of herself over a man. When she discovers that her mother borrowed the Pants to wear on a date, she’s certain of it.
Tibby: Not about to spend another summer working at Wallman’s, she takes a film course only to find it’s what happens off-camera that teaches her the most.
Summer is always a special time for the four teenage best friends: Bee, Tibby, Carmen and Lena. They have the time to hang out, get jobs, share secrets, discuss boys – and wear the amazing jeans they call the travelling pants. This year there’s an added polgnancy as the girls know this is their last summer together before going off to different universities. With Lena defying her father, Carmen resenting her mother, Bee rediscovering her first love and Tibby trying to escape her family, the air is fraught with tension. Can the strength of their friendship overpower the feuds in their families and leave the girls with happy memories of the third summer of the sisterhood?
