Myself and two friends went to the RWA Literacy Signing in Washington, DC and had the best time!!! I took some pictures:

While we were waiting in line, I kept noticing all these lovely gals with JR Ward “brother” shirts on! Darn, why didn’t I think of that! I could have been decked out in a John Matthew shirt. Next year for sure! I thought it was so cool, and they graciously let me take pictures of them. Unfortunately it was a little crazy at the time and I didn’t get their names. But I told them to stop by because I was posting their pictures:)
JR Ward
OMG! I met JR Ward!!! Most exciting thing ever:) She had two books to choose from – Lover Avenged or Lover Enshrined. Now, Lover Endshrined is not my favorite of the series, but it does have my favorite scene in the series – towards the very end when John Matthew is drunk and goes into the bathroom at Zero Sum and Xhex follows him in. He ends up writing a special note for her on the paper towel…something for her to read…later. You all know what I am talking about! Anyway, I found the page in the book and asked her to sign right on that page :) She just bursted out laughing and said no one has ever asked her to sign right on a page like that before.
It says – “OMG I can’t believe I am signing here”

I was exhausted when the whole thing was said and done but we had a great time!! It was one of the best, memorable experiences!! I can’t wait to do it again. :)
On the way out, we had to stop at a restroom, and we saw a paper sign for a Ladies Room, which I didn’t think anything of when we went in. Then we saw these:
Those are urinals, covered up with lovely sheets – they even put flower arrangements on them – LOL!!! I guess they realized with a romance conference in the building, the women needed more bathrooms:)
I am GREEN, GREEN. That you got to meet all of these incredible authors and bloggers.
One day. One day I will go! *vows*
Now, I move to read other posts about RWA that will keep me in my green misery.
what great pictures! i saw the women with the Wrath Shellan etc t-shirts from a distance as well, too funny. i also had such a blast yesterday, but did not get a chance to use the restroom, but i certianly would have lol-ed at the converted urinals!!!
LMAO the 'mens' bathroom make over is fantastic really great idea!! I'm so jealous of all the amazing authors you got to meet!

Count me among the GREEN! Elizabeth Hoyt (Julia Harper) is one of my favorite authors. Thanks for sharing your photos. I would love to go to this someday (maybe if it ever comes to Chicago area).

Do you need to pay for the books that the authors sign? How much was the whole conference?

I Heart Book Gossip – books cost regular price – you are allowed to bring in a couple from home if you want, but if you do that they want you to make a cash donation. I think next year, or whenever I go back, I might bring some from more of the well known authors..for ex..by the time I made my way to Julia Quinn all her books were sold out.
The literacy signing was free..I believe the fee for the entire conference was $400-$500 range and I don't think that includes hotel. If you google RWA conference they have a web page that may list prices.
