Mailbox Monday

August 3, 2009 by Mandi 17 Comments

I haven’t done a Mailbox Monday hosted by Marcia at The Printed Page for awhile, so let’s go…

I received this from PBS after reading the review for the second book in the series, What a Lady Wants by Patti at Book Addict. Victoria Alexander is a new author to me. Sounds like a fun series!

I have been wanting to try Rachel Caine and I decided on this series to start with. I have read the first chapter and so far so good.

I bought this book because….

….this book was a free download for Kindle. (I just checked and it is now $4.47..still a good price!) I haven’t read Richelle Mead but these books look really good!
While searching around Amazon, I found this one – Remembering Ashby by Heather Long. I fell for the cover, what can I say. The pages in between look quite intriguing as well:)
I also received two ARC’s from Sourcebooks:

My Unfair Lady by Kathryne Kennedy due out December 1st

Willoughby’s Return – Jane Odiwe (very pretty cover!) due out November 1st.

Last, but not least, I received something else in the mail this week. Not a book, but something oh so smexy –

Photobucket

Yes, it’s a purse with hunky cowboys on it. Well, maybe hunky is not the right word, but they are half naked.I have decided to name them Jake and Tor from Chris Owen’s Bareback. The second guy does have a head, you just can’t see it from this picture. The best part about this purse are the looks you get from people when you wear it out. I love it:)

When I saw this on Etsy I emailed my mom and jokingly said I wanted a purse like this. The next day, I was still thinking about it so I went ahead and ordered it. My mom didn’t know I ordered it and she spent hours looking online for that fabric and found it! She ordered the fabric for me so she could make it for me. I didn’t realize, so now I have the purse and the fabric. I think I will have her make me a cover for my Kindle out of it. Thanks mom!

Have a great Monday!

Leontine – LOL…I'm glad you are not jealous ;)

Stacy – I love my Kindle so much more than I thought I would. I now prefer to read off of it rather than a book. But I do like to look at my books on my bookshelves:)

Alot of UF's in there :).

I'm looking forward to reading MY Unfair Lady! I really enjoy her Relics of Merlin series, especially the last one.

That purse is really cool! That's really awesome that your mom found the material!I should look for a purse of tote bag pattern! That would be something that just might get me to pull my old and dusty sewing machine from it's hiding place!

Great mailbox! My daughter has that fabric and wasn't sure what to make with it, she was thinking an apron, but I'm going to show her your purse and I wouldn't be surprised if that's her new plan!

    Happy reading!

I have Ill Wind also but I haven't read it. Seems lately I've been the great collector of books instead of a reader of them. *sighs* Who needs sleep anyways? Right?

The purse is verra lovely! What does the hubby think? LOL!

That purse is hotter than any Louis Vuitton on the market. I hate being on a GD book budget. I've been meaning to add Richelle Meade to my TBR pile, alas have not done so yet. Will be looking forward to your take on em.
