Two things before we Get This Party Started (channeling the Black-Eyed Peas this morning)
First – I finished Dreamfever last night!!! Loved it, although I do have one general disappointment in it, but just a tiny one. And the ending!?! If anyone has any thoughts as to “who” (referring to the ending – trying not to spoil) or would like to discuss anything about it – email me!!! (mandischreiner (at) gmail (dot) com) I plan a big post for Friday – it may be a big spoilery post, this book is impossible to discuss without giving away all the goodies.
Second – Nominations went out for BBAW (Book Blogger Appreciation Week). BBAW was started a year ago by Amy Riley, of My Friend Amy in an “effort to recognize the hard work and contribution of book bloggers to the promotion and preservation of a literate culture actively engaged in discussing books, authors, and a lifestyle of reading.”
Over 1,200 blogs were nominated for various categories and Smexy was nominated for Most Humorous/Funniest!! Thank you so much for those that nominated me!!
Many wonderful friends of this blog have also been nominated for different categories. I believe a list will be posted at BBAW website in early September. They then have a panel of judges that will select the winner in each category.
My favorite blogs week four:
Blodeuedd has a great blog consisting of book reviews and giveaways. She reads all sorts of different genres and it seems she has a never ending supply of books coming to her:) Blodeuedd always takes the time to comment on many blogs, which I always find so nice.
Barbara is a great writer – her book reviews and news are very professional and entertaining. She has author interviews and giveaways. She loves her steamy historicals, but reads all types of romances. She is one that makes my tbr pile increase on a consistent basis!
I do not know how this girl reads so many books! She is a reading machine. I love the way she reviews..she definitely has her own style. She was one of the first to follow me and is such a supportive blogger! Plus she did an awesome job at take-over week here! EH also does lovely opinion pieces as well.
Amy is another one I have to blame for my ever increasing tbr. She reviews romance and does author interviews and guest posts. I feel like talking to her on her blog is like having coffee with a good friend. She is always so warm and welcoming.
If you have missed them, go HERE for my favorite blogs from the previous three weeks.
Also, last night JR Ward did an online chat with Jessica Andersen. I have not read Jessica Andersen’s books, so I didn’t make any notes on those (sorry!) but JR Ward did give a few details about BDB and Covet:
BDB:
– Murhder will get his own book (not sure where to put “h” in murder)
– No’one will be in Lover Mine (John Matthew’s book due out 4/2010. Now that I have finished Dreamfever, John Matthew and Barrons are fighting for top spot on my boyfriend list)
– Payne and Manny’s book will be next! Set for May 2011
– Jane will play a bigger role in their book, because Manny use to be her boss.
– She is 180 pages into John Matthew’s book..she expects it to be about 780 manuscript pages.
Covet:
– The angels are not tied to the Scribe Virgin or Omega (both from her bdb series) in any way.
– They are also not the same kind of angel Lassiter is.
– There is lots of “black creepy magic” in this series. As the books go on, it will get darker
– She considers Covet both a UF and romance, similar to Lover Avenged.
– Jim Heron will be in every book. (I believe Jim Heron is the hero in Covet)
– One of her favorite characters is Vin, and he is “wicked hot”
– The angels have a dog (I know you all wanted to know that)
– She promises the Covet excerpt soooooooon.

Another great group of bloggers, and a few new-to-me ones that I intend to check out :)
Okay, with all the talk of KMM's Fever books, I'm buying all 4, so I will be avoiding Friday's post so as not to find out anything. But I will have to be sure to come back and check it out :)
Mandi says
Maybe I will do one non-spoil, one spoil post. I don't know!! With the way the third book ends, it is impossible not to talk spoilers.
On that note, I can't wait for you to read this series Stacy!!
Leontine says
Hi Mandi, it looks like I'll be avoiding your blog on friday too since copy is not in eager hands :S (feel like a whiny kid these days, stomping on ground for not getting what i want) But of course I come hauling back upon reading the final letter of the book to discuss ins and outs!!
Congratz on the nomination for BBAW award, I had thirty minutes of fun nominating everyone. The list (categories) is so freakin long.
As for your favorite blog, they're mine too. I love spending time at EH and Amy, both peeps I just kick back and relax with to stroll their blogs and Blodeuedd got me to order a YA novel, really, unheard of since I don't read in the genre (aside from Melissa Marr's – Wickedly Lovely) I read her review from Suzanne Collins – the Hunger Games and knew I wanted to read this one. And love to go to Barbara's place.
Great post again Mandi :D
Mandi says
Leontine – I can't wait to discuss Dreamfever with you!!
I had a lot of fun nominating blogs!!!
I am picking up Hunger Games because of Ms. Blodeuedd :)
Blodeuedd says
Thanks for the mention :D So sweet of you.
And I sure love the 3 other blogs, you're so right in what you're saying.
Congrats again on your nomination. You sure deserve it, your blog is lovely. I will keep my fingers crossed.
Oh have I gotten people to pick up The Hunger Games, nice :D
Leontine, Mandi I sure hope you both will enjoy it. I think the review said all how I felt about that one.
Heather D says
Thanks for the updates on JR Ward!!!
Christine says
Congrats on your BBAW nomination! =)
I second Blodeuedd's recommendation to read Hunger Games. I read (and reviewed) it in September 2008 and it was my favorite YA read of 2008 as well. I hear Catching Fire is equally if not more amazing and it comes out in the US in a few short weeks!
Mandi says
Blodeuedd – Thx! And it was a great review..I can't wait to start it!
Heather – you're welcome:)
Christine – ooh..I will def have to read Hunger Games quick so I am ready for Catching Fire:)
Barbara says

I'm 2/3 of the way through Dreamfever – I picked it up at lunch yesterday, ended up working 2 hours overtime (grrr!) and tonight am going out to dinner with friends visiting from out of the country….I wonder if they'll mind if I read at the table?
JM's book is gonna be awesome!!! Though, I still can't figure out who Mhurhdher (one of those h's is right) is.

Hi Mandi, Congrats on the very deserved BBAW nominations & thanks for another great line-up of fave blogs, I'm familiar with all of these great blogs :-)
Jill D. says
Stacy! Yay, I am so excited you are going to read the Fever series. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. At least you won't have to wait long between books because there are some killer cliffhangers between them.
Mandi – Congratulations on you BBAW nomination. That is awesome! I am looking forward to your Dreamfever review. I have a feeling I know what your beef is with the book. It's probably the same as mine :)
I have Hunger Games sitting in my TBR. I haven't gotten around to it yet because I don't usually read YA, but everything I have heard about it has been so positive. I just need to get to it.

This is very interesting. I was looking around online for a similar topic, but ran across this one instead. Wasn’t exactly what I was looking for, but this may be even more valuable to me more then what I originally thought I wanted to know. Thank you very much for sharing this. I be sure to bookmark this place and tell some friends of mine about it as well. Keep up the good work. Cheers!
