J.R. Ward held an online chat last night and she has been answering questions at Barnes and Noble’s center stage. While she gave us a few details, she dropped one big spoiler that has made me verra happy:
Qhuinn and Blay will be each other’s mate!!!

This makes my manlove heart smile! It is unclear if they will get their own book (which I don’t see happening) or if their story will unfold in a secondary storyline, like it is now. I wonder how far JR Ward will go with the romance details? Hmmmmmm:) This does not mean Qhuay (get it?) are hooking up in Lover Mine. Blay has to first lose his virginity to Saxton, Qhuinn’s cousin (and lawyer in Lover Avenged). I also hear Qhuinn is going to have quite the jealous streak when this happens and might not be able to contain his bonding scent. Go team Qhuay!
Other BDB news:
- We will see lots of Ehlena and Jane in Lover Mine
- Lassiter is definitely staying in the BDB world and will have his own book. She doesn’t know of Lassiter is the same type of angel as Adrian and Eddie from Covet
- There are many hot love scenes between Xhex and John Matthew in Lover Mine, one in particular takes place in the tunnel (in their mansion)
- We will see Zsadist covered in baby stuff in Lover Mine
Fallen Angel news:
- We will definitely see the dead girl that was hanging in the room at Devina’s again.
- There is bad blood between the four guys “in the sky” and Adrian and Eddie
- Some of the people Jim has to save will be females.
- She was asked how Jim can be the “quarterback” now that he is an angel – isn’t that not fair to the demons? She said Jim is the quarterback to end all quarterbacks and we will have to see how it plays out.
- Adrian and Devina definitely have a history
- Devina can take any form – man, woman, child.
- Jim’s dog has a significance….
- Jim’s boss Matthias will play a big role in this series
- We have not met the heroine for Crave yes (next book in Angel series)
Lover Mine’s cover should be revealed soon on her message boards. There will also be an official chat transcript posted in a few days.

I wish Ward's publisher would allow Blay and Qhuinn to have their own book, but they will probably be reduced to a secondary story, even though their romance is good enough for a full length novel.

ACK! I swear, Warden is messing with our minds! She did say Qhuinn would get a Shellan, and on numerous occasions referred to Qhuinn's partner as 'she'. Argh!
Gotta say though, I am totally on board with team Qhuay! I was only really interested in seeing what sort of woman JR Ward would write for Qhuinn because the character would have had to contend with lots of animosity from Qhuay fans.
I think readers interest in Qhuay is a pretty good indication that we would appreciate them having their own book. I mean, we didn't get any V/Butch shenanigans, so Warden owes us man love!
Maybe Qhuinn does get a shellan and also bonds with Blay? Ward fans have wanted a threesome so why not with Qhuinn, Blay and perhaps Layla?
