Aleaha Love can be anyone—literally. With only skin-to-skin contact, she can change her appearance, assume any identity. Her newest identity switch has made her an AIR (alien investigation and removal) agent and sends her on a mission to capture a group of otherworldly warriors. Only she becomes the captured. Breean, a golden-skinned commander, known for his iron-will, who is at once dangerous and soul-shatteringly seductive, threatens her new life. Because for the first time, Aleaha only wants to be herself. . . .

Aleaha doesn’t know if she is human or alien or part of both but she can take on anyone’s identity only by touching them. She has spent most of her life terrified someone will find out her secret. Most recently, she assumed the identity of a murdered girl, who happened to have just been accepted into Alien Investigation and Removal, or AIR. So Aleah finds herself as Macy, and is working alongside an elite team to fight the evil aliens.
On this particular night, her team received word that the Schon, who are infected with a disease that turn people into cannibals, will be arriving to clear a path for their queen. Instead, they find the Rakan land and AIR is not prepared to fight them. They are too quick and they are also soul-jumpers, able to take over ones body so you are left with no control. Breean, their leader is here on Earth just looking for peace. The Schon decimated his planet and people, and he wants a new beginning on Earth. He captures Aleaha and several of her team members, wanting to bargain with the AIR – their freedom for the freedom to inhabit Earth.
More than anything however, Breean wants Aleaha. He wants her from the moment he lays eyes on her and he is determined to have her.
The world in Tempt Me Eternally is really interesting and I loved the interactions with Devyn, Dallas and the other AIR agents. Although they were not the main focus of the story, I really, really want to start at the beginning of this series just to read about them. I loved the concept of being in the future with Aliens, and sarcastic, cocky men dripping in weapons that are lethal. Nice combination, one I will be definitely checking out in the future.
I had big issues with Breean though. From the moment he sees Aleaha he is obsessed with her, to the point of forcing himself a little too much in my opinion. Yes, in the end Aleaha reciprocates his feelings, and even in the beginning she is attracted to him. But Rakan can elicit sexual feelings in humans, so who is to say her feelings in the beginning were not part of that response. He took advantage of her while he held her captive, asking her to kiss him before he would do something or her, or it seemed he was constantly trying to seduce her. I am not saying he crossed the line, it was just his mannerisms that did not appeal to me. Many times Aleaha would let him seduce her thinking it would throw him off guard so she could escape. I don’t like that as a foundation for a relationship.
I didn’t buy into the immediate “you are mine forever” attitude carried by Breean either and the eventual falling in love with your captor scenario. While I love an alpha male, his arrogance outweighed his passion and it was a deal breaker for me.
Give me more Devyn and Dallas and I think I will be a happy reader.

Hi Mandi
Nice review.
And yes sometimes I don't buy the whole love you right away thing, and giving it. Sometimes it works so would have to look and see

Thank you Mandi. I quite like the whole alien slant so will have to see if I can find the first book. As for the falling in love with your capture scenario…Stockholm Syndrome?

I always wondered how these two got together. I found it really frustrating that Devyn's book is already playing after this one. Can't wait to read this story.
Thanks for the review!
And have a nice Sunday!

Orianna – I don't know if I would call it Stockholm Syndrome…she was attracted to him even before her capture. If anything…she wanted to get away the entire time..but she has a loyalty to her team.

I loves me some Devyn. I can't wait for Dallas's book. I liked Gena Showalter's Enslave Me Sweetly with Eden (Rakan) vs this short story. I liked your take on this one :)

Since when did Blogger start eating comments??!! I left one at your review of Kresley Cole's part of Deep Kiss and here…freaky…must be in the spirit of Halloween!
Anyway…what i told in other comment was that I just want a taste of what this world and characters are about, get a feel for the series and if it might be something for me.
I wonder how Breean will do with me, I love arrogant men…to a certain point of course!
