Fugitive: The Cat Star Chronicles #5 When a Zetithian fugitive meets a beautiful Earth woman, their passion may cost them both their lives…

Manx is a Zetithian fugitive with a feline gene that gives him remarkable sexual powers. He has been in hiding in the remote jungles of Barada Seven ever since being marked for extermination by the violent Nedwuts.

Artist Drusilla arrives on Barada Seven, enticed only by the promise of finding a nature paradise there. But she discovers a wildlife she wasn’t expecting when she encounters Manx. Reckless with desire for the beautiful Earth woman, Manx risks his life to win her as his mate.

It’s only a matter of time until the Nedwuts find them, but it will take all of Manx and Drusilla’s passion, skill, and ingenuity to survive.

On arrival in Barada Seven, Drusilla is awestruck by the beauty of the planet and the kind people that live there. She is taken to a house and Lester, her tour guide of sorts, promises there is no violence or evil monsters on the planet that will bother her. As she starts to paint she meets Zef of the species Eltran, a water being who lives in the local lake. Zef has another friend though, one that is rarely seen. Manx is a fugitive from the now destroyed planet Zetithian. He has escaped slavery from the evil Nedwuts and they want him back. He has been going from planet to planet trying to stay one step ahead of them. He doesn’t see Drusilla right away, but he smells her. Zetithian’s can only get erect when smelling the desire of a female, and the scent that he smells tells him she is someone very special. He is shy to meet her however, and stays in the shadows to observe her.

Drusilla has a feeling someone is out there watching her and it is not until Zef comes out and confirms that it is Manx that she realizes she has a secret admirer. When they do finally meet, their passion is immediate and intense.

Drusilla and Manx decide they could spend everyday making love and painting, but their blissful happiness comes to an abrupt halt when the Nedwuts track Manx down. With the help of allies, Drusilla and Manx must run for their lives.

Fugitive is just a crazy book and by that I mean – the romance and lust between Manx and Drusilla is so over the top – I don’t think I have read a book like this – ever. I found it to be very entertaining though. Cheryl Brooks does a good job at mixing a book full of lighthearted moments with erotic scenes.

Manx is not really an alpha male – he definitely will protect his female, but he doesn’t have the stern, colder exterior a lot of alphas have. Do you know what he does have? A ruffled penis – and he can point that penis of his in any direction. In fact, nothing is left to the imagination during the sex scenes in this book. I think I read the words “dick,” “cock” and “wanker” more in this book than all other books I have read combined. We have snard (the Levinthian word for semen) running down legs and more orgasms than I could count. One taste of Manx’s – snard – and Drusilla is writhing around in total ecstasy. After one night together, I can’t believe they weren’t dehydrated from all the fluid flowing everywhere. With as wacky as all of that sounds, the romance scenes are erotic and sexy in a sci-fi way.

We don’t get a lot of background on Drusilla except to learn her previous boyfriend is gay, so you can assume she has not had the best sexual experiences as of late. She is very flirtatious, likes to have a good time and definitely not shy. I really liked her as a heroine.

It takes at least a third of the book for Manx and Drusilla to actually meet which makes the beginning drag out a bit. Once they do meet, and after one passionate night, they decide they want to be together forever, which is kind of hard to buy into. I also would have liked to see the plot of Manx and his captors described more than just the action scene at the end. However, I enjoyed the action and was glad when we finally got around to learning more about the supporting characters. Although this is the fifth book in the Cat Star Chronicles series, it is the first I have read and reads well as a stand alone.

Fugitive gives you a chance to read about a ruffled penis! What more could you ask for? It is also entertaining and a very unique romance book.

Okay, the ruffled penis thing got me to read this review…good hook, Mandi. And now, I find myself totally wanting to read about snard and wankers. Is this available as an e-book for kindle or only print? Now I get irked if I have to buy a print book…what has happened to me? I am a kindle snob.

Good review Mandi. It sounds like a very interesting book, ruffled wankers and all. Wait, snard? Um, I'm not even sure what to say about that. I have visions of busting out laughing during a late night encounter with hubs, "Give me your snard!" Okay, I'm done.

The first in this series is in my TBR pile, but I might just have to skip ahead and read this one for the snard alone.

    Thanks for the candid review.

Fallon – LOL – yeah – let me know how the snard comment flies with the hubs ;)

I'm interested in going back in the series..there are several characters in this book that have appeared in previous books.

A ruffled penis? Snard? Oh my, I think this story will be an experience like the one I had with Elizabeth Amber in the erotica genre :D I am assuming it is erotica or isn't it…just sci-fi romance?

It is sci fi romance…heavy on the romance…but like I said..it takes awhile for them to even get together.

    SNARD!

I am pretty sure previous books in this series use snard too. I will have to start at the beginning!

Greate review! :) I'm reading the 2nd in this series now, and it is hilarious. I love the "I'll give you joy like none you've ever known" line the cat men always says.

Great review! Personally, I can't imagine reading this as a stand alone because the first books are lead to this and give all the history of the Nedwuts and why they are hunting them. If you go back and read the series you will be amazed at how it all unfolds and gets to this point.

    :o)

Oh, Mandi! I had to stop laughing before I could post a comment. Ruffled penis? Snard (BTW sounds like an awful name for semen, reminds me of snot) and Manx is a cat man's name. Enjoyed your review, very much!
