K.C. from Smokin’ Hot Books is a huge fan of Kresley Cole and kindly agreed to review for me today!

If you are like me and are crazy for coco puffs for Kresley Cole, Dark Desires After Dusk hits the ball out of the park.  Cole’s previous book Dark Needs out of Night’s Edge, was kind of a miss for me, although enjoyable, it fell a little flat after her amazing releases of A Hunger Like No Other, Wicked Deeds on a Winter’s Night and now Dark Desires After Dusk. Cadeon Woede, demon, brother to King Rhystrom, mercenary;  will do just about anything to get his brother’s crown back.  All he has to do is locate the "Vessel" and hand her over to one bad-ass sorcerer. In exchange, he will be given a sword able to defeat their current Kingdom’s ruler and take back his brother’s crown. Easy peasy right? One problem, the vessel happens to be his mate, Holly Ashwin.

If you were like me and giggling over Bowen, Cadeon is right up there for Immortal After Dark hot heroes.  He’s charming, often refers to Holly as ‘Poppet’ and is mischievous. He is ever so dastardly and dares the repressed Miss Holly to watch her first hotel room porno, which frankly is almost a right of passage these days right? Although you want to smack him for ever thinking of turning the cute Holly over to the evil sorcerer, you also can’t help but be on his side.

In Cole’s previous books her valkyrie characters are usually strong women that kick ass and don’t bother to take names. Holly is a whole other Oprah. She has obsessive compulsive disorder (she has to have things in 3’s), has a PHD, and teaches mathematics to meat-head jocks.  Oh, and she’s also happens to be the ‘vessel’, aka ubber fertile carrier that will either birth the demon’s version of the anitchrist or a child of good. I won’t spoil why she is the way that she is you’ll have to read it folks. But her interactions with Cadeon are hilarious and sexy.

Final Verdict: You can’t miss this one! If you are like me and prefer Cole’s shapeshifter and demons to the Wroth Brother’s, Dark Desires After Dusk needs to be on your book shelf, and I am eagerly anticipating Pleasures of a Dark Prince next week!

Rating: 4/5

*purrrr* Cade. He's one wicked demon. Who would have thought that I'd get sprung on a hero with horns, but Cole pulled it off and now I'm all over those juicy demons like white on rice!

    Hugs, VFG
