Why I read: Author asked for a review.

Favorite quote: Jesus, the man had a long, tireless tongue.

Penny is tired of cleaning up after her lazy boyfriend while she works two jobs and goes to school. The trailer she inherited from her aunt is a mess and she doesn’t have the energy to keep up. Although Miguel is a super sexy out of work model who is amazing in bed, she has had enough with men not taking her seriously. She kicks him out, and Miguel leaves quite reluctantly.

That night she wishes to herself to meet a man as beautiful on the inside than he is on the outside. She awakes in the middle of the night to a loud noise. As she sneaks out to investigate she doesn’t find a man burglarizing, rather a man doing her dishes.

Gunnar is a Nordic Light Elf from Alfheim – a once soldier and fearless leader but due to prior indiscretions, has been given immortality but delegated as more of a human house servant. He has been serving humans and remained celibate for the past eight centuries. He is not suppose to leave house duties undone, but as he looks at Penny, the lust between them can’t be denied. Ignoring the fact that he will be beaten by being seen by a human, he throws caution to the wind and seduces the lovely Penny. They spend a night full of passion. As Gunnar is sent back to Alfheim to receive his punishment, his nemesis, Skirnir has his own plans for Penny.

Do Me Good is an erotic novella, that if any longer, it probably would have been too much. Many times, these short erotic books tend to get my eyes rolling. But, this book is definitely entertaining. For as much as the sex and descriptive phrasing is over done, I liked it. Penny cracked me up kicking Miguel to the curb and then getting all hot and heavy with Gunnar. Gunnar doesn’t have as much personality, he is more there just to fulfill her needs – and he has no problem doing that. It is a bit silly that he has been celibate for the past eight centuries, but at least in this book, it is the male and not the female that has been more virginal!

Although it is a short story, we get Gunnar’s back story as to why he is serving as a lowly house elf and the reasons Skirnir is out for revenge. But don’t get me wrong – sex is the main attraction and Adele Dubois gives you front row seats.

There are many phrases in Do Me Good that had me giggling. For example:

…then jogged naked down the steps to retrieve his only clean pair of boxers. Penny eyed his perfect, hairless ass for the last time before he yanked them on, his meaty cock swaying as he hopped from foot to foot.

or

Perhaps Freyr’s elves had big cocks too. The baloney expressions “size doesn’t matter” and it’s “the motion of the ocean” that counted most when it came to pleasing women were just that. Penny was convinced that men with small cocks created those phrases to make women feel guilty for wanting more. Penny liked cocks that were big and hard and ready.

I got a kick out of Adele Dubois’ writing style. It didn’t necessarily turn me on but either way, it is entertaining.

Rating: 3/5

I love the excerpts your picked! Sometimes I think the shorter erotic reads take a certain leap of the imagination to get into the story but they are usually enjoyable. For me they are like milk chocolate while the longer erotic romance is like dark chocolate.. hehe..I think I'm hungry..
