Marked heralds the start of a new paranormal romance series from Elizabeth Naughton with book two in the series Entwined due the 27th of July. Personally I love when authors do this, it makes the wait for the next book in the series just that little bit more bearable….. and believe me you will want the rest of this series as soon as humanely possible.
Personally I was hooked from the synopsis and I was really eager to get started, so I cleared my day for some serious reading which turned out seeing as I was ill not very hard to manage, and spent a very enjoyable (all things considered) lazy Sunday afternoon with my ereader curled up in bed with a nice mug of tea immersed in the story that Ms. Naughton has created.
“As unrest in the Underworld threatens seven immortal warriors descend from the greatest hero’s in all of ancient Greece, may just be mankind’s last hope”
Our hero is Theron, a dark haired sexy male who is full of a sense of duty and is deceptively deadly. He is the leader of the Agronaunts, they are an elite group of warriors or guardians, that defend the immortal realm from the threats of the underworld. (drooling much yet? I know I was at this point)
Our heroine is Casey, a woman who has suffered and now believes herself to be a hypochondriac. She sees a strange woman following her but thinks that the woman isn’t real. Her reaction when she sees Theron for the first time is pretty much the reaction that I think if I clapped eyes on a man like that, that they just don’t exist, but do you think that would stop me? Hell No!!. She knew he was looking for something but didn’t realize that something was her.
Casey has the mark that Theron has been searching for, the mark that means she must die, to ensure the survival of his race. But things are not always as straightforward as they appear. Even though Theron is a 200 year old descendant of Hercules, he wasn’t strong enough to resist Casey.
Wow what a story!!! After seeing Clash of the Titans the week before reading about some awesomely hot sexy Greek Hotties was right up my street, and I’m not sure that the temperature I was running at the time was all due to being ill, if you get my meaning!
From page one I was hooked, the story was fast paced which was what I was expecting and what I wanted from the story. Its a story that was full of Greek Gods, some underworld demons and of course vengeful warriors, this is a paranormal romance that will leave you drooling, wanting more and utterly satisfied, it has everything a girl could want.
The series has already been compared to J. R. Ward’s brothers, Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark Hunters and Patricia Briggs. So I think if you like these authors then this is a series you will not want to miss.
I am so looking forward to reading the rest of this series it has just gone on my automatic buy when released list! Hope you all enjoy Marked as much as I did.

I fell in love with the written word in HS all because of Eng Lit 101 and Greek Mythology. Hey, I'll buy myself a Mother's Day gift next week!

I've read Naughton's romantic suspense Stolen Trilogy and thoroughly enjoyed all three stories. I was planning on buying and reading this series as well, but you got me at the comparison to Ward, Kenyon AND Briggs! That's one fine comparison if you ask me! Who wouldn't be sold right there?

I have seen this book a bit. There seems to be a lot of hype surrounding it, but I wasn't paying much attention. Read this review and now I think that maybe I should have been paying attention! This sounds like a book I'd be interested in reading!
Great review, Amanda!
