Luz Velez is a shape shifter with a problem. She can’t shift. And when she tries, she has panic attacks. Severe panic attacks that have crossed over and are affecting other areas of her life. Since no self respecting shifter will associate with a non shifter, she is persona non grata in the shape shifting world. When the oh so hot vampire Jude Jacobson  approaches her with a proposition to her problem she is intrigued.

Shifters and vamps don’t mix. Period. But Jude claims he can help her with the panic attacks. A simple blood exchange; and all her problems will disappear. The catch? HE gets to decide where he will suck from. After some debating, Luz agrees. In a truly mouthwatering scene, Jude manages to shed some of Luz’s inhibitions along with her panties for a mind blowing blood exchange that leaves Luz panting for more of Jude’s “special” talents.

As Luz and Jude venture deeper into sexual bliss, Jude realizes that Luz is a virgin and has some serious emotional issues that need resolving. When Luz’s past raises it’s ugly head, Jude does his best to help her cope with the past. When Jude’s own issues begin to surface, Luz feels betrayed and not sure if their relationship can survive the breach of trust. Luz wonders if she made a deal with an angel…or the devil.

Evangeline Anderson’s Deal With The Devil handles a devastating issue with much more sensitivity then I would have expected from an erotic novella. An integral part of the story, Ms. Anderson takes Luz, Jude and the reader on an emotional roller coaster ride that had me sniffling at the end.

Both strong but vulnerable, Luz and Jude have a lot in common. Shunned for circumstances of their birth…all they want is love and acceptance. Jude is wildly romantic and sweet. He takes his time with Luz; seducing and courting her into accepting her own sexuality and self worth. While he is very much a dominant, Luz’s happiness and safety are his prime concern. You can feel his love for her. Watching Luz come into her own is exhilarating and makes the story. The storyline has some intense graphic scenes that deal with serious subject matter. It may be hard for some to read.

Luz’s brother Diego shines through with his love and protectiveness of his sister. He also provides some comic relief to the story. I really like that she give closure to less visible characters and didn’t forget about them.
The only problem I had was the drama that resulted by Luz’s inability to check her phone messages. It was a little unbelievable. Once I could understand….but twice? Plus, seems something that important would rate a drive by or at least a text message.

In all, Deal With The Devil is an sexy erotic paranormal thriller that takes readers to the edge and leaves you panting for more.A powerfully written story in a little package. I do hope Ms. Anderson continues this series or similar ones.

Great review!! The book sounds both emotional and sexy! And I can probably relate with the not checking phone messages thing – I do that all the time..though granted they are not usually life or death phone messages ;)

Great review Tori! I normally don't care for E books, but I so want to read this one now-it sounds a bit different from the normal paranormal romance books that are out there.

Stacy-Thanks. lol I bow to the masters of erotica. :)

Heather- As long as there is a viable plot it's all good.

Buckeye Girl-It was different. Ms. Anderson blends everything perfectly and nothing is lost…which makes for an enjoyable read. I really liked Luz & Jude.
