10. I’m going to try to start doing a top ten every Friday afternoon. Hopefully I will have better dedication to it then my attempt to do a monthly wrap up which lasted two months. HA! Why a top ten? First, I gather little tidbits of information during the week and I want to share them. Second, I have a super secret obsession/crush on David Letterman. Don’t tell anyone, ok?
9. Big news from Orbit – Two more books are coming from Gail Carriger in her Parasol Protectorate series next year – Heartless (July 2011) and Timeless (Winter 2012) So excited for this news!! Also three more Jane True books from Nicole Peeler – an author I need to start reading.
8. I had promised a BEA and Book Blogger wrap up post – well here it goes. BEA was awesome – I think I collected about 30 books the first day. Many are YA which I don’t read a ton of, but it was a lot of fun to meet the publishers and the entire event was very well done. Plus I met a lot of great bloggers including Janice from Janicu’s Book Blog (trust me, you don’t want to get fingerprints on her Nook – just look from afar;) and Heather from Darkly Reading (She put me on a scary bus and took me to Grand Central Station when I needed to go to Penn Station – OK, so maybe I didn’t tell her which train station specifically I needed!). I also met Ana and Thea of the Booksmugglers, Kenda from Lurv a la Mode, Kristen from Fantasy Cafe, and Taschima from Bloody Bookaholic.
The second day I skipped out and went sightseeing in NYC. I went to Saks and held $1200 Jimmy Choo’s and pretended I was Sara Jessica Parker. I also went to CNN and attempted to stalk Anderson Cooper. It was a good day. That night I went to the Metropolitan Opera House to the ballet. That’s right – Smexy got cultured. No more boxed wine for me! Seriously though, it was amazing..I loved every second of it. I’m going to make hubs wear tights and do an interpretative dance for me. On Friday The Book Blogger Conference was really well done and I could listen to Ron Hogan and Maureen Johnson speak for the rest of my life. I direct you HERE for proper recaps.
7. Jeaniene Frost announced on her blog that the tentative title for Bones and Cat #5 is This Side of the Grave and will release February 22, 2011. She also has a short story in the Death’s Excellent Vacation Anthology out this August which features Bones and Cat.
6. Brandon Flowers (now don’t go rolling your eyes because I mention him..you are lucky I am only devoting one bullet point!) has his first solo single coming out in THREE WEEKS! Rumored to be called, Crossfire. He is also touring later this year in the UK – which means, all my lovely UK friends that someone needs to let me stay with them..and err, buy me a ticket to fly over. Then we can go to the concert together! It’s a win-win…win. Trust me.
5. The Fifth Annual 48-Hour Book Challenge starts this weekend. (Today actually). Click on the link for all the rules and let me know if you do it! I will be thinking of you all as I chase after my children and um..sleep. :)

4. Spaghetti Dogs. My kids want me to make this for dinner. You put dry spaghetti noodles into hotdogs and boil. This actually may compliment my boxed wine quite well.
3. There is a new blog on the block! My buddy Julie, has started the Yummy Men and Kick Ass Chicks blog. Julie and I have had many fun conversations on Goodreads and I am so excited she has finally decided to start her own blog.
2. Gah – I still have two more spaces left. I’ve already resorted to the hotdog noodles..what else is there people? Here – random hot dude:

Ok so not really random – it is Joe Manganiello and someone sent it to me yesterday. But I like. I like a lot.
1. My most recent obsessions on Twitter: @Target – Fiction Vixen alerted me to this. I love this store. I think FV loves it more. @unimancorn. There really aren’t words to describe this tweeter. Just follow. And finally, @DrunkHulk. Yes, this is how I spend my time.
David Letterman is so hawt!
48hr blog marathon sounds great but no time. Srsly.
I am squeeeing over here >>> Carriger and Frost are coming out with nww books.
Spaghetti dogs look weird. May have to try that.
#2 Random Hot Dude is The New Guy on the Block on Season 3 of True Blood. Joe will be portraying, alpha werewolf Alcide Herveaux. He has already caused quite a stir.
I know!! I can't wait for Alcide!!!!! I wonder if I will like him more than Eric?
I am so trying those spaghetti dogs, my son would love that because it's just so strange. I'm pretty upset that you didn't get to meet Anderson Cooper but props for trying, he is such a sexy beast of a man. Last but not least ALCIDDDDE, RAWR!
Happy weekend!
I knew I loved you Mar..Anderson Cooper….oh yes.
So I know absolutely nothing about Joe M other than he was going to be Alcide and now? Wow. He is HOT. Hot hot hot. As much as I truly get pissed off at the show and rant and bitch about it, I am so looking forward to seeing him.
Spaghetti dogs are just wrongggggggg.
Yes, I do love @Target, as well as @DrunkHulk and @unimancorn. I only follow the best baby!! :)
48 hours of reading o-0 That requires some serious reading stamina to finish!! I vote yes for your top ten's Mandi, me likes it! :D
Taking you to grand central was all part of my devious plan to kidnap awesome book bloggers so I can one day rule book blogger land – you just caught on to me evil plan to soon *shame face*
haha..it took me like 10 min to walk to Penn St. Plus my friends had all my heavy suitcases..so it was nothing at all! :)
Too funny Mandi! You'll have to take a picture if your husband actually ever wears the tights and dances for you. I believe that would change your marriage for ever…lol. Thanks for mentioning my blog! My blog wants to be your blog when it grows up! And I'm undecided about the spaghetti-dogs…
YAY Brandon! *woot*
My hubs and I are laughing at the Spaghetti Dogs. How intriguing they are…
I finally feel validated that I am not the only one who has had a crush on Letterman! I have loved him since I was a little girl.
Alcide!! So HOT!
Pamela – You bitch about True Blood? Are you true to the books? I got a little tired at the end of last season..but looking forward to next wk!
FV – I heart Twitter.
Leontine..thanks :)
Julie – I heart your brand new blog!! I would vote no to spaghetti dogs :)
Smash – LOLOL..I can't talk about Brandon enough..hehe.
Samantha! Yes to Letterman!! Let's go stalk him together.
I love your top ten!!! I love your "hot dude" he is so incredibly yummy!!! Wish I had one of those at home! LOL Hope your having a good weekend!!! Happy Reading!
Brandon is growing up Mandi – He is losing his boyish charm…
Whats that above his lip – a speck of dirt…. I hope he washes it off before he flies over here..

Think I'll pass on the spaghetti dogs, but thanks for the random hot dude! Yummy! :-)
Sorry, but I am thinking that spaghetti dogs are one way to convince the relatives that I should never be asked to bring any hot dishes to the family potlucks. :) Thanks for the idea!
If Joe is going to be Alcide on True Blood, I may have to give the show another try! (I have all of Charlaine Harris' books, but most of the cast of the show just don't mesh with the characters I have in my head.)
More Carriger! Thank you world :D
Those spaghetti dogs are freaky!!! Now I wish my kids were young again so I could make them!!! Really, they are so cooooool!!
EH – He is ALL man baby! And Ms. EH he looks mighty fine with his scruff..RAWR! ;) (you have me cracking up!!)
Cheryl – Thankies!
Alexia – LOL
Christine – OOH…perfect..I'm taking them to the IL's next time!
Blodeuedd – I know..so excited!!
Kristie – LOL…I will let you know how my kids like them.
Love Joe Manganiello, hot!
And I'm now following @DrunkHulk, hillarious.
