Marcella Acosta is back…though she’s not exactly sure where. After defying Lucifer to save her best friend Delaney, ex demon Marcella has been banished to a existence between Heaven and Hell with nary a Pier 1 in sight.  She needs a medium to help her relocate but all she is getting is hacks and wannabe’s.

But she knows of one medium who is the real deal-Kellen Markham. Only he’s not high on her fan list. Kellen seems to have inherited his sister Delaney’s medium powers but not her skill. So when the ghosts get to be too much he moves into Delaney’s old apartment to get some much need space. After finding a box of Marcella’s old things, his "not so pure" thoughts concerning the hottie demon drag her back to Earth. And now that Marcella is back…nothing is sending her back to Plane Drab. But other forces at work are determined that Marcella is not only coming back to Hell, but they’ll make sure she’s screaming the whole way there.

My Way To Hell has to be one of the funniest books I’ve read this year. I haven’t laughed so hard since my high school nemesis sharted in her white jeans at the mall.  In book two of the Hell series, we see that Marcella is paying the price for helping her friend Delaney avoid Lucifer and hook up with her true love Clyde. She has been banished to Plane Drab and failing after life classes such as, "Medium+Ghost=Happily Ever After for Eternity".

When Kellen is able to "summon" her back with some naughty thoughts involving him, her, and sexy lingerie Marcella is ecstatic. But Kellen has some hard facts to face up to. Number one being his attraction to Marcella. And number two trying to figure out how to send her back. As Kellen prys into Marcella’s past, he finds that she is not the evil loving money spending demon he thought. And he doesn’t want to let her go. When a child becomes involved, Kellen soon finds out how Marcella will go to save his soul.

Marcella’s sarcastic humor and quick as a whip snaps had me crying with laughter. I normally don’t like quirky slang talking characters but this book hits the right tone and stays humorous without being annoying. Toss in a snarky cross dresser possessing dog, a passel of whiny demons, & a hottie medium and you have a hilarious romantic paranormal mystery.

Cassidy has a wonderful ability to combine humor and drama in a irresistible storyline. The protagonists, Marcella and Kellen, have some serious heat between them that sparks off the page. I did enjoy the slow work up Cassidy used in planning out their romance. By not jumping straight to sex, it was far more believable- the previous hate and misconceptions that Kellen held on to concerning Marcella. She made Kellen work at it and I enjoyed the show.

Outrageous and personable secondary characters round out the book and keep me rolling with laughter. The plot is well thought out, interesting, and blended well with the main arc of the story. The ending was fantastic and an interesting development has me hooked to read the 3rd book in this series. If you looking for an angst filled and dark PNR then you picked the wrong book. But if you want a hilarious, smexy, and totally hell to the yeah kick butt book then cop a squat and commence to reading this one.

Rating: 4/5

I almost bought this the other day just based on the cover – it's gorgeous! But I've been burned by doing that lately so I'm thrilled to see that it's actually good – I'm getting it!
