Favorite Quote: “It was a fantasy and she knew it.

But that didn’t change the power of the act or the magic of the man.”
In Dee Davis’s thrilling 3rd installment, Desperate Deeds, we meet Tyler Hanson. A Demolitions expert in a secret black ops unit A-TAC, she has two loves; bombs and literature. When her mission goes wrong, Tyler finds herself under suspicion. She meets British op Owen Wakefield and decides to seize the moment and seduce him for the night. Not planning on seeing him again, she is shocked to discover he has been brought in to help A-Tac find out what happened on Tyler’s mission. Though Tyler tries to keep her distance she cannot help but continue to fall for Owen. But Owen Wakefield is not who he seems. Forced to keep his true identity and motives a secret, Owen has been called to infiltrate and discover who the traitor is in A-Tac. His one night of passion has him feeling Taylor is innocent of any wrong doing, but evidence is mounting up against her. When witnesses start dying and evidence disappearing Owen and Taylor put aside their feelings and race against time to find answers before the traitor strikes again.
Dee Davis writes a thrilling continuation of the A-TAC team that provides plenty intrigue, suspense, and romance.A strong dialog and a fast well written action packed storyline is sure to appeal to a wide variety of readers.Taylor, our heroine, is a self assured take charge young women who knows what she wants and has no problem going after it. I liked how she initiated the affair with Owen. She is comfortable in her skin and it shows. There is a subtle air of fragility about her, due to her past, that softens her edges. You see a comfortable comradely with her team mates that belays any of the “bitchness” that strong heroines are often portrayed as. Owen, our hero, is a bit of a “Rico Suave”. lol He is the perfect complement to Taylor. While she is a little rough around the edges, he is as smooth as flowing water. Even though he is investigating Taylor and A-TAC, his feelings for Taylor leave him conflicted and insecure. When it is revealed that Owen in there under false pretenses, Taylor is hurt and angry, but the handling of the situation is rather “adult” for lack of a better word. Taylor’s job and personality demands she see the whole picture so she understands the “why” of what Owen did. But she does make him do some fancy dancing to get back into her good graces. The chemistry between them is hot and heavy  making for some steamy smexy scenes. They are both heavily invested in each other so walking away is not an option.
I enjoyed seeing the whole team back and participating heavily in this story. The interaction between them
adds to the over all enjoyment of the book. I also liked how Ms. Davis introduces us to Taylor’s family.
It gives you a deeper feeling of connection with a main character that was not as strongly felt in the first two books.
Ms Davis keeps the traitor under a tight lid and provides plenty of entertaining clues and false leads to keep you guessing till the end. The ending was dramatic, satisfying, and wrapped up the story perfectly. It also left some open ended questions, assuring us that we will be seeing more of the A-Tac team in future books.
If your looking for an action packed, non stop, romantic suspense series that reads fast and furious, I recommend the A-Tac series by Dee Davis.
