Smexy is happy to have Stephanie Julian visiting again. This time she wants to know:
When does size really matter?
Well, that depends on what we’re talking about, doesn’t it?
Cell phones and MP3 players? We want those to be small enough to fit in our pocket.
TV? Give me a 50-inch plasma, baby, big enough to obscure an entire wall.
I want the small dinner plate but a huge piece of chocolate cake.
In real life, I’m married to a great guy who only stands about 5’8” and weighs less than I do (only by a few pounds, but I’m allowed to hold that against him.)
Let’s face it, there aren’t too many 6-and-a-half-foot, built-like-a-professional-wrestler, brooding, gorgeous hunks of manflesh out there.
(And if there are, could you send me an email so I can go there and gawk. They don’t live anywhere near me.)
But in romance, these guys are wandering the streets in droves, just looking for the love of a good woman to take them away from their lonely existence.
These men always have a secret, a big one that keeps them from finding the love of their lives. Or keeps them apart, for the woman’s own good, of course.
He’s a vampire and he’s ancient and the gap in their ages is huge! Several centuries huge. He’s seen things and done things that our dewy eyed heroine can’t even imagine, not with all of her 23-years of worldly existence. So of course she’s perfect for him.
Or he’s the werewolf king, who can change his body into another creature and loves to hunt tiny woodland animals for fun and food. He never fails to be tamed by the tough but tender 30-year-old virgin who can close billion-dollar deals and slay powerful men with a single glance.
Okay, maybe she’s not a virgin. But she can count on one finger the number of men she’s had in her bed. So of course she wants to have hot monkey sex with the long-haired, tatted-up guy in black leather.
In my new release from Ellora’s Cave, “Size Matters,” Carrie Benton is a tabloid reporter with a sharp tongue, a dry wit and a healthy sense of skepticism. So, of course she’s looking for Bigfoot. Yes, I mean Bigfoot, that shaggy hulk of American folklore.
What she finds is Tim, one of those gorgeous hunks of manflesh I was talking about earlier. And yes, Tim has big feet.
You know what they say about the size of a man’s feet?
But Tim also has a huge secret. And Carrie’s about to discover exactly why “Size Matters.”
So tell me, does size matter to you?
Thanks Stephanie! Today, we have an E-Book of Size Matters to give to a lucky commenter. To enter, just answer the question above. Contest to everyone through Saturday September 18th.

Hmm…loaded question!
Now, if we're talking size in relation to say brownies, then yes it totally matters. :) Otherwise, I don't think size is as important as skill. ;)
Nikki says
I don't believe size matters. I have been with small guys (in all sense) but he knew how to work with what he had. And i have been with big guys that didn't know jack! Sorry to say but in my experience its a coin toss. Just love the one your with…

Hello, Stephanie! I was intrigued by the title of your book, and I had already checked out your website and read and excerpt of "Size Matters". I admit to imagining some startling romantic visualizations of the big and bodacious "Tim" : ) I am a "statuesque" 5'10" woman, and I have always wanted to swept off my feet by a big, strong hunk. Of course, there would have to be a catch, and in this case Tim has a secret. That's OK…we all have secrets : )

Hmmm, as stated before, size does matter, depending on the type of item that you are talking about. But if you're referring to a certain individual, size shouldn't matter, just as long as you feel comfortable with that individual. Does that make sense? lol. Anyway, Size matters, sounds like an interesting read. Can't wait!:)

I'm with Angelique… very loaded question.
If someone were writing my husband and I as hero and heroine in a romance it'd sound really silly because I'm 5'9" and he's 5'2". Never was it more an issue than the day we asked for help finding something in the hardware store and once the clerk showed us what we were after my husband asked me to reach up and get it for him. lol
Does size matter? Maybe for another woman but not for me. ;) My man may not be physically towering over me and built like a viking but if size mattered he might have passed my Amazonness up for one of those petite little heroines. Urgh!
(and I nicely avoided commenting on the "other" size matter because this lady doesn't kiss and tell… :P)

Such an intriguing title Stephanie! That alone makes me want to buy the book! As for size, I'll take a small entree and a big peice of chocolate cake (hence the daily visit to the gym). I loved what Nikki said too!
~*Jessica Rabbit*~ says
It sure does. In every aspect size DOES matter to me. *shrugs* :)

I think it depends on the individual. Some guys have "short mans complex" if they are with a woman that's taller. I do prefer a man that's taller, bigger than myself but I have dated guys smaller as well. In the end it all comes down to what's inside because that's what lasts. Great review and interview. Thanks for the giveaway!
PS- Now size below the belt? Heck yeah it matters! Got to have something big enough to work with and won't get lost! ;)

Rhianna, there aren't too many Vikings around but you seem to have found a great guy, just like mine.
Stephanie Julian says
caseycrow, that big piece of cake is why I run and bike. I love it too much to give it up.

Jessica, you're not the only one who thinks so ;)

Amy I agree, too little and you're left wanting…

The only thing I don't really like is when a man weighs less than me, but everything else is fine.

Debbie, I know what you mean. I love my husband dearly but if doesn't put on a little weight, I'll have to hate him.

I think that it really depends on what your talking about. If it has to do with men then no size doesn't matter.

No I don't think size matters. Unless we are talking about a piece of cheesecake, then it matters. My grandmother always said good things came in small packages. Of course she was 4ft 10 inches.

My one and only rule when I was dating was that the guy's thighs had to be bigger than mine because I was absolutely not going to date a guy if I couldn't wear a pair of his jeans. So yes, size does matter, and yes, my DH does meet the criterion.
Loved the Lucani series and I'm looking forward to reading this.

Haha, depends on what we are talking about! :-D
Of desserts the bigger the better. Of pills, the smallest please. So yes, I would say, generally size does matter :-) (Also I can't date a guy shorter than me, I'm 178 cm, that would look weird)
Thanks for the great giveaway, Size Matters sounds exciting, would love to read it!

As you said in the post, there are times when size matters. Cell phone, car, TV – we all have preferences based on size. As to men and sex, I think it's the fit that matters more than the size. Where other physical attributes are concerned, as a short woman I prefer men whom I can kiss without first getting a stepladder. Ego size is also a concern – not too big to be a dominating jerk and not so small as to be a doormat would be my preference.
Sweet Vernal Zephyr says
Yes.
Oh, you wanted more details? Truffles must be small, hamburgers must be big. :D
Thanks for the giveaway, this sounds like a fun read.

Size has a place and does seem to be fascinate people with the Guiness Book of Records listing hundreds of items by biggest or smallest. How about catagorizing by more or less. I want more chocolate and less broccoli.

haha. I love the question. Yes, size matters in almost every aspect of life. The bigger the paycheck, the candy bag, the heels on my shoes, a man's – er- heart is, the better :-)
