Favorite Quote: “And if you’re stupid enough to let that sorceress curse you again, just know that I’ll be using your stone ass to hang my lingerie on.”
Emma finds herself handcuffed to a gargoyle – but this isn’t any normal gargoyle and Emma isn’t any normal human. The half fae is happy that this gargoyle is in his stone form, and not the viscous cat form he could take on if he had not been cursed by her twin sister Elena. People get them confused all the time, and here is another case of mistaken identity. Elena cursed Cian 100 years ago to stay in his stone form, and now Emma is paying the price. As she sits their contemplating her immortality, she notices the gargoyle starts to warm up – and all of a sudden she is faced with a very alive cat. Bracing herself for an attack, she gets a purr and rub to the face instead. Soon he turns into his human form, and she gets a look at the very sexy, naked Cian.
Cian returns to a world where 100 years of technology has passed him by. Confused, angry and very turned on by the female so close to him. He wants to own her, possess her and make dirty love to her immediately. Thinking she has put an enchantment spell on him to produce these feelings, he actually doesn’t care – he just wants her.
Emma is not going to be persuaded so easily – but when news comes that her sister could be in grave danger, she will do anything to help her – including making out with Cian if that is the incentive he needs to help him track her.
Primal Pleasure is the third book in Sydney Somers’ Pendragon Gargoyle series and again she gives us a book with very sexy scenes. I love her humor – her characters always have such smart-ass mouths that make me giggle. As long as they are not in danger of getting their head lopped off, they revel in their immortality and their nonchalant attitude is amusing.
Cian is all male, all powerful beast and to watch him struggle being in a new century and struggle with his feelings towards Emma makes you root for him. It is unique to have him not only a shapeshifter, but also turn to stone, or gargoyle form in daylight. Sydney Somers also weaves the tale of King Arthur into her series which is always a plus for me.
While I enjoyed this installment, it was a little weaker than her previous book. I was a little let down by the villain. I wanted him to play a bigger part or just come across as more evil. I also thought Emma dragged out her part in not telling Cian that it was actually her twin sister who cursed him for too long in this book.
Sydney Somers has a great voice. She can combine humor and very sexy romance into great stories. I always enjoy reading her and I definitely recommend this series.

Love Sydney Somers! She hooked me first on her Shadow Destroyers series (I've got Rae's story sitting on my Kindle if I ever find the time). I'm glad to see the next installment of the Pendragons. :)

This sounds very good. I have a crazy question – how do you pronounce Cian? Is it like the robot things in Battlestar Galactica? Thank you.

This book looks great. I have not read anything by this author, but I would love to give her a try. I love the fact that Emma is sacrificing herself for her sister, but that it is not really a hardship to be with Cian. Thanks for the giveaway.

Mandi – Thrilled to bits that you enjoyed the book and like my writing voice. Thanks so much for taking the time to read it.
Thanks Barbara. I hope you enjoy Rae's story as much as the others in the series. I've really missed working on the series these past couple of months, Parker especially. :)
Thanks, Sherry!
Victoria, Cian is actually pronounced Kee-an.
