Favorite Quote: “We’re better together then apart. Isn’t that what love truly means?”

What could Christophe, a powerful Warrior of Poseidon, have in common with Fiona Campbell, the notorious jewel thief known as the Scarlet Ninja? Answer-the Siren. A legendary Crown Jewel that Fiona has targeted for her next heist. It’s said to be worth millions, but to Christophe it’s invaluable. For the Siren also happens to be one of the missing jewels from Poseidon’s trident. But breaking into the Tower of London is a two-person job, and Christophe and Fiona must team up to commit the crime of the century.

Christophe expected no problems when he is commanded by his Prince to go to London and “liberate” the Siren from the Tower of London. But when he is shot, kissed, and left for dead by a beautiful woman…he knows trouble comes in red. Christophe is deemed one of the most unbalanced of Poseidon warriors. Powerful and angry, Christophe hates the humanity he is sworn to protect due to his childhood. Something about Fiona balances the emotions that run ramped through him. From their first kiss, he will do anything to possess and keep her forever.

Lady Fiona Campbell aka the Scarlet Ninja is a titled beauty by day and an infamous cat burglar at night. She has been hired to steal the legionary Siren for a client. But when she runs into Christophe at the Tower of London, she is instantly attracted to him. But a job is a job and she needs the Siren. She tries to take him out of the picture but Christophe is not any ordinary man. He follows her to her home to offer her a deal. Partners or he reveals her secret.

As they work together to steal the Siren, they reveal a plot in the making that threatens both humanity and the supernatural world.
I have always adored Christophe and was thrilled to see him get his own story. He’s been an enigma through out the previous books but finally Ms. Day lets us in Christophe’s psyche and heart. In Atlantis Betrayed he is so much more personable and oooo la la smexy. We are treated to glimpses of his rare humor and the depth his emotions will go when he meets his one true love. The beast is tamed.

I love, love,LOVED Fiona. Strong and independent with a stable family base, she makes choices based on what is best for her family and kinsman. She has always been aware of the supernatural world (she has some interesting gifts of her on) so there isn’t any of the tension, fanatical disbelief, or feelings of betrayal when she realizes Christophe isn’t human. She is low key and has a fab sense of humor which balances Christophe’s caustic personality perfectly. These two were made for each other and the chemistry sparks and sets the pages on fire.

The romance and passion between them is intense and had me re reading a few scenes-just to make sure I understood correctly. ;) Their playfulness is apparent in the bedroom and their willingness to experiment makes for some pretty steamy scenes. I can’t stress enough how Ms. Day transforms Christophe in this book. even though I always liked him-in here I fell in love with him.

As we divulge deeper into the story line, we see some old friends and meet some new ones that ratchet up the tension and suspense. Conflicts are spreading and new alliances being made. A few surprises pop up that have me ready for Vampires in Atlantis . Though I did miss the bittersweet side stories that often appear in this series-Quinn and Alaric. One thing that really surprised me about this story is how toned down it is. It revolves considerably around Christophe and Fiona and their mission. While this fantastic supernatural world gets bigger and better with each book; this one wasn’t as over the top as the previous ones.

All in all this is an ideal series for all paranormal romance fans looking for adventure, romance, and suspense. Atlantis has never looked so good.

Rating: 4/5
