*Contains some spoilers*
Blurb: The fragile peace between humans and vampires in Morganville is in trouble, and when Claire takes drastic action, she’s put under serious pressure to re-establish the barriers that keep the town residents inside, and wipe the memories of those who leave. But working with her half-crazy vampire boss Myrnin means that things don’t always turn out as planned … and as the people of Morganville begin acting strangely, Claire and her friends must solve the mystery and try to put things right. But one by one, her allies are turning on her … even the ones she trusts most.
Claire is forced to work with Myrnin to develop a new system that will keep Morganville safe from outsiders. Things seem to be going smoothly and everything seems to be working until Claire realizes that Michael doesn’t seem to recognize her. After confronting others in the city, she realizes that it seems to have the opposite affect and is wiping the memories of those inside Morganville instead of those leaving. Claire finds herself working with an unexpected ally but she will need to hurry or she could be the next to forget.
I absolutely loved this book. It was exactly what I expect from Rachel Caine with her Morganville series. There was a lot going on in this book but not so much that you found yourself being thrown around. Everyone in this book had ups and downs and I found myself feeling sorry for characters that I don’t normally like. Because of things that happen in this book we learn more about many of the characters that make Morganville what it is.
If you haven’t read the Morganville books it is a series I definitely recommend. The vampires are scary, the humans are believable and Morganville is a place I wouldn’t want to find myself stuck in even for one day.

Nice review, Amanda! I jumped in and read book #9 without reading the earlier books and I concur that this was a good book! I'll be adding the series to my wish list.

Thanks everyone. Seriously if you haven't read this series I definitely recommend them. Rachel Caine is such a sweet sweet person, I've had the opportunity to go to many of her signings since she is a local author here in the DFW area. I will be at an event with her next weekend too.

I read the first few of this series and got bored of it. Feeling a little inspired to try to catch up.
