Favorite Quote: “I shall miss you.” More than you shall ever know.

Jasper has been serving Nate at Madame Delacroix’s brothel for the past five years. Nate has been a little bit of a different client for Jasper. He doesn’t demand sex right away. They share conversations, sometimes a meal. Jasper knows the intimate details of Nate’s life, and has to remind himself that this is not love they share between each other – only lust and pound notes. This isn’t the only way Nate is different however. Nate enjoys sex a bit more on the kinky side – enjoying seeing Jasper in a women’s shift, or with a bit of rogue on his lips. Jasper likes playing this game, but after five years, the intense attraction and love he feels for Nate has worn him out.

Nate is heartbroken that his first crush is getting married to a girl. Although this crush never really resulted in a physical relationship, Nate has been obsessed with this man for years. He has leaned heavily on Jasper, especially now that the man is getting married. Jasper is tired of being second to this crush and has a big decision to make for his future.

I really enjoy Ava March’s historical M/M romance books and His Client is no exception. I love prostitutes as main characters in historicals and Jasper has been at it a long time. He is burned out – he has saved enough money two years ago to move on in life, but his attraction to Nate has kept him going at it. But now with Nate so morose over losing his crush, Jasper has had enough. But before that point in the story, we get a glimpse into Jasper and Nate’s “relationship.” Nate likes things a bit naughty – some sex toys and a hint of womens clothing really turns Nate on. I’m never disappointed in an Ava March sex scene. She writes such emotional…smut. It’s dirty, yet there is always that emotional connection needed for an erotic book to work.

This one doesn’t necessarily present a lot of conflict – more just two men who need to find a way to get on the same path towards the future. They both have the attraction and a foundation for love, they just need a push in the right direction. It wraps up very nicely not feeling rushed.

Another romantic, sexy story from Ava March and I look forward to more.
