Favorite Quote: “Why don’t you come over here?”
She rolled her eyes. “I want to get to the good stuff.”
”Sweetheart, with me it’s all good stuff.”
Ben Walsh wants the ranch he grew up in as a child, but first he needs a wife and he is not happy about it. His billionaire grandfather will hand over the deed to the ranch, once he has a wedding ring on. Ben decides to approach marriage as a business proposal. He goes through all the women he knows, and comes across Gina Reyez. He has only met Gina briefly, but he knows Gina is very business oriented and not looking for a relationship. He proposes to her that they marry and will give Gina a new house and a very generous monthly allowance if she marries him for one year. They have to act married for his grandfathers sake, but otherwise, they can live separate lives.
Gina is stunned by this offer. She assumes Ben is gay because of the way he dresses and the meticulous eye for detail he has. She doesn’t want millions of dollars, but she knows her family members would benefit. She also has a brother that has been missing since she was young, and she knows this money could help find him. So, against her better judgment she agrees to this outlandish plan.
Although they attempt to live separately, Grandpa Joe soon wonders why they are not on a honeymoon, and Gina and Ben soon find themselves together – a lot. Once Gina realizes Ben is not gay, hello hot romance! But Gina doesn’t really feel worthy of Ben’s money, and they both have a fear of commitment. Making this fake marriage work is hard enough – is the real thing even possible?
Yours for the Taking is a really cute contemporary romance. Book four in Robin Kaye’s Domestic Gods series starts off with a marriage, which I always enjoy in books. I love when a hero and heroine are forced into marriage and then the “now what?” happens. They try hard not to mingle with each other, but Grandpa Joe has other plans for them. Through the first half of the book Gina walks a fine line between spunky, “tell it like it is” heroine and a heroine I wanted to throttle. I reminded myself that this plan to get married was not her idea, so she has a little more leeway with her sometimes hurtful remarks to Ben. Once we get into the swing of things, I definitely warmed up to her more. Bottom line is she feels uncomfortable with having millions and millions of dollars at her disposal, so she takes it out on Ben.
Ben is full of charm and is just an all around good guy. He never takes advantage of Gina and is really trying to do good by her. He is very family oriented and very sexy in bed. Oh yes. I loved to meet his family in Boise (both Gina and him live in New York). Trapper, Hunter, Karma, Fisher – odd names yet really fun characters. I believe Hunter’s book is up next followed by Trapper. Can’t wait!
This is the second book I have read out of this series and have enjoyed both! Light, funny, and romantic, I look forward to more Domestic Gods in the future!

Great review Mandi. It's funny but this book follows a similar plot line of a book I read years ago. It's one of my most fav books.

I tried to read the first book by Robin Kaye and just could not get into it, but I think the premise of this sounds much more catching for me and I love the cover. Total cover whore, I am.
