What books have you read in the past month that really stood out?
I've seen Nightshade around but haven't really looked into it. Seeing the thumbs up here has me interested. I'll keep an eye out for the review.
Stephanie G
Paranormal Haven
Shadowfever of course!(yes you know this)
I love Sweet As Sin as well! Deadly Heat by Cynthia Eden has some hot smexin in it!
By the Book is soooo good. So so good. DFC is my new obsession.
PH – I'll have it up next week. It is a great start to a new UF series…
Bells – SF of course! ;)
I've heard great stuff about Cynthia Eden!
Samantha – OMG – Daniel Cross – SO DIRTY!!! Love. :)
I just read a really good review for Unveiled! So excited about that one now. And of course The Iron Queen.
Thanks for the spotlight on some great sounding books, Ladies.
I also read A Brush Of Darkness, and really enjoyed it. I had an e-galley, I really want to get a 'real' copy when I find it here.
Looking forward to your review of Sweet As Sin, it sounds interesting.
~Ailsa
I just finished Call Me Irresistible by Susan Elizabeth Phillips and loved it
Missie – Unveiled is so so good :)
Ailsa – I'm reading Brush of Darkness soon! I've heard great things :)
The Book Pimp – Tori really liked that one too..I have yet to read SEP..eek!
I am going to read Rowen, and some of the other ones I do want to read :)
I had a good month..but the best book, oh, there were a few
The Book Pimp Blogs-SEP's new one was fab.
I'm with Mandi on Nightshade & Tori with Iron Queen, A Brush of Darkness & Merciless!
Thanks for that list. Many new-to-me authors. I'm new to the whole e-book thing. Where can one find that Scarlett Parrish book? I would have bought it for the cover alone. :) Not available for nook and I didn't see it on Kindle-but that could be operator error.
Lisa – Here is the link to Loose ID to purchase http://www.loose-id.com/By-the-Book.aspx
I don't see it at Amazon.
Thank you.
Lisa, Loose Id books don't go to third party vendors for two months after release, so By the Book should appear on Amazon and other sites round about the beginning of March.
So pleased you like the cover (cover artist was Christine M. Griffin). I begged 'em to show Daniel's tattoo and did The Jig of Happiness when they did.
I won a digital ARC for Sweet As Sin. I read it in one day because I couldn't put it down. I thought about it the next day too. The dark moment is very dark IMO. I wasn't sure I was going to forgive the hero. I may have to re-read it to see if I was to hard on him the first time. This story lingers long after you are finished with it.
GeishasMom – I know. I write in my review that the hero is hard to like at some points, and I think he crossed a line – but – I believed in his pain and suffering, therefore I believe in his actions. Inez Kelley keeps him very consistent throughout the book.
I do wish the ending HEA resolution would have played out just a bit longer…he had a lot to make up for…I'll have my review up next week! And yes, I am still thinking about this book :)
How in the H-e-double hockey sticks did I miss the Elizabeth Hoyt book! God, it's even on my 'to buy list on Goodreads thank god for this post.
Fiction Vixen mentioned By the Book so I must haz that one as well.
PS if you do these posts monthly I may not have any mulah left to pay my mortgage #bookaddict
SQUEEEEE! I've got Nightshade and By The Book on my TBR, Mandi!
Tori – I freakin LOVED A Brush of Darkness!!! I can't stop raving about it.
I've just added the first book of the Collegia Magica series to my TBR.
Mandi – have you read any of Marie Sexton's books? (She writes contemporary m/m). Just finished her fourth book in the Coda series and…WOW! I loved it!
Tori – off to read your The Soul Mirror review, although I really must read Transformation first. Have you read the Lighthouse series? They blew me away!
Orannia – No – I have not read her!! Adding to my TBR!!
Bit of showing off here – Marie Sexton has a short story out on 14th February called "Putting out Fires", which I beta read…basically because I send her emails nagging her to write faster and to send me her filthy writings. ;)
My favourite of hers is Strawberries for Dessert…not because I'm mentioned in the acknowledgements, promise! I'm half in love with Cole, even though he's a) gay and b) not real. Bah!
how is Shadowfever not on this list???????!!!!????? I demand an explanation :)
LOL..I know! When I wrote up the post I thought people would be Shadow-fervered out…it totally belongs on the list though! ;)
