First off, I would like to thank the ladies at Smexy Books for letting me invade their blog today. It was awfully nice of them, even despite my threats. J/K. At the end of the day, they’ll choose a commenter to win a FREE eBook copy of my new release, SUMMER’S ROAD, coming March 25th wherever books are sold. Feel free to ask any questions. I’ll be around. Lurking.

image

Though I’m from Wisconsin, a good portion of my family is in the Carolinas. There’s a lot of misconceptions about the south being hee-haw backwoods country where anyone with a southern accent has an IQ lower than their jean size. So not true. There’s museums and fine dining and… the men.

Oh heck yeah, the men. The good southern charm and "aw shucks, ma’am." The men as comfortable on the back porch with a long neck as they are hard-working. The men who respect their mammas and fear their daddies. The shirtless, tanned, toned… eh hem.

Anyway, I knew the format for SUMMER’S ROAD was best suited for the south, particularly the Carolinas. I drew up the typical upbringing and used the "friends falling in love" plot so well suited to that area. Where everyone knows everything about everyone in a small town as pleasant as it is ordinary. And the hero, Ian, well let’s just say if only he was real. Sigh.

SUMMER’S ROAD is a contemporary single title romance very close to my heart for several reasons. One, it was a rewrite of my first romance hand-written when I was sixteen. Two, the heroine, Summer, is so much like myself in ways it’s scary. Of course, she’s much prettier, darn her. And three, writing it was like coming home again. Not only the place and smells and time, but the people. I fell in love with the people. Yes, they’re real!

Anyways, I wish the commenters luck in the contest, and if you don’t win, I hope you’ll pick up a copy on the 25th. Let me know what you think. If interested, you can find trailers, reviews, my books, and more on my Web site at www.authorkellymoran.com, or my Blog at www.authorkellymoran.blogspot.com. I’m also on Facebook at www.facebook.com/authorkellymoran, Myspace at www.myspace.com/authorkellymoran, Goodreads at www.goodreads.com/authorkellymoran, and Twitter at www.twitter.com/authorkmoran.

Good Luck in all your adventures. XO

Thanks Kelly! To enter to win an E-Book of Summer’s Road, just leave a comment. Contest open to everyone through midnight tonight.

Juggling two book series at once is a bit of a crazy-making experience, especially when it comes time to promote the new series and introduce it to readers. Especially in introducing the MetaWars series to the readers of my Dreg City series. MetaWars is both similar and different, and I'm…

Great interview, Kelly! I couldn't agree with you more about Southern men being some of the best. My husband is originally from the Kentucky/Tennessee border and isn't the least bit dim-witted (works in global finance). He's very charming, sweet, and passionate. It's so refreshing to find a story that casts a positive light on these wonderful southern men! Your books sounds fabulous!!! I really like the friends-falling-in-love theme!

Well Damn…I missed out on the giveaway time frame. Well I will be placing this on my TBR list right now anyway. I love that the author relates the characters so much to her own life when she was around 16 and I think it sounds like an amazing book to check out. :-)

Definitely a winning read! I just know the winner of Summer's Road will enjoy it immensely, no matter where they are in the world.

I also agree with Kelly – if Ian was real… and yet he seems to already be taken so there's maybe more reality about him than some characters ;)

Thanks for this additional insight into Summer's Road. I'm loving following the book tour as I'm learning so much about Kelly and her methods.
