Smexy’s Top Ten–April 22nd

April 22, 2011 by Mandi 25 Comments

10. My Week – We are all healthy and the weather has been nice. Geez, I don’t even know if I have anything to complain about! ;)

9. This is probably really old news, but as I was reading over at Fiction Vixen’s I noticed she has a link to the 100 top Free and Paid Kindle Romance books. I see lots of free Kindle books pop up but I’ve never gone searching for an actual list. So there you go.

8. Big news from Carolyn Crane! Book three of her Disillusionists Trilogy is now going to be published by Samhain this December! Woo and Hoo! Her former publisher, Spectra dropped her after Double Cross came out which makes me really sad *shakes fist at Spectra* I think this series is so original, smartly written and funny. SO glad Samhain is awesome and is picking up the third book. Seriously, if you haven’t read this series, you must! Start with Mind Games!

Carolyn has also created trading cards to promote this series.  Oh um gee – Packard is looking MIGHTY FINE in that picture. Might need to sleep with that one under my pillow. Hubs won’t mind if Packard shares our bed, right? And one of my favorite characters, SImon:

Snort. I LOVE him. If you want a set (Five in all –Packard, Justine, Otto, Simon and Shelby) go HERE for details.

Finally, Carolyn Crane, Jill Myles and Meljean Brook have got together to self publish a anthology called Wild & Steamy, coming out this June.

7. The Easter bunny has a magic hiney? Who knew.

6. Starting later this year, you will now be able to borrow Kindle books at your local library. Sounds good to me!  Per Amazon:

Amazon today announced Kindle Library Lending, a new feature launching later this year that will allow Kindle customers to borrow Kindle books from over 11,000 libraries in the United States. Kindle Library Lending will be available for all generations of Kindle devices and free Kindle reading apps.

5. Season four of True Blood is getting closer and they have now released a new clip. Oh my Hoyt – you big ‘ole country boy. I think he is growing some muscle under that shirt of his.

4. Cover Alert! Immortal Rider by Larissa Ione. I really like this cover! This is book two in her Lords of Deliverance series out December 1st.

.

Skinnygirl Margarita - by BETHENNY FRANKEL3. I have been watching the show on Brave – Bethanny Ever After which features Bethanny who used to be on Housewives of New York City – but now she is married with a baby. She created the Skinnygirl line, which I believe includes cookbooks, maybe even food. But who cares about that. Because she also created the Skinnygirl Margarita. HELLLOO! So I decided to try it – even though a few friends told me it was not so good. Smexy’s Verdict – 7/10. I would buy it again. A little sour. Not quite as flavorful as others I have had. But hey – it has tequila in it. What else can you ask for?  ;) Plus I love the logo. So bring on the Skinny. Smexy approves.

2. I think I posted this last year, but it deserves another look. I love the Peep Show.

1. Today my kids and I are making Flubber! We shall see how this experiment goes. Then we are going to see the movie Hop. We also have eggs to color and more bunny things to do. It will be a fun weekend. I hope everyone has a nice holiday! Happy Friday!!!

Hey Mandi! I’m glad Carolyn found another home. I look forward to the next book! Love the trading cards-but that is not how I pictured Simon….hmmmm-love Sterling though! Beautiful new cover for Larissa. I still have the first book to read. I am impatiently waiting for the last season of True Blood to come out…I think it’s 5/31. Can’t come soon enough! Love the PEEP show! Have a great Easter!

You better be knocking on some wood, girlie, else you run the risk of cursing yourself with #1. Here, I’ll knock for you. Now you’re covered. ;)

That peep show is all kinds of awesome! There are even dollar bills in their g-strings. LMAO!!

OMG I would have thrown a major diva tantrum if Samhain didn’t pick up Crane’s awesome series.

The Peep Show! LOL! Love it.

And how could Spectra diss Carolyn that way? Glad she found a new home. I so can’t wait for book 3!

Samhain is great: no geo-restrictions and DRM, so Spectra dissing Carolyn Crane = Win (for us non-American, non-Kindle readers).

Grin, the Peep Show stays funny!

Enjoy the egg coloring and Happy holiday! :D
