Vic Fallon is an ex-cop from the Ohio Sandusky police force, now only taking side investigative jobs after being shot awhile ago. As a favor to his Hollywood lawyer friend, he agrees to be secuirty for superstar singer, Kimberly Daniels for a few days as she returns to her hometown.

Isn’t until after he takes the job, he finds out she has been receiving very disturbing threats. He also realizes that this crazy star that he has only read about in the paper is pretty down to earth and his job to protect her takes on new meaning.

The Bundle doesn’t quite deliver in the romance department. I never felt a spark between Vic and Kimberly. There is eventually sex, but even then, it comes across as just sex and no romance. Told mostly in Vic’s point of view, the few times we get another’s POV, it feels very out of place. Kimberly gets a few paragraphs told from her, and it is very jarring. We only seem to get her thoughts on sex. And it is a case of telling us, not showing us this passion

He has got to be one of the most considerate, passionate lovers I’ve ever been with. I can tell it isn’t just about the sex, either. Too much passion. No, this is fueled by nurture, not nature. I feel like I could make love to him forever.

I want to see and feel this passion. But we don’t.

Kimberly’s long-time personal assistant, Pasta is gay and is portrayed in a very stereotypical fashion. His scenes are a bit cringe-worthy. There is also time where he become severely injured and lands in the hospital and Kimberly doesn’t even bat an eyelash. They are supposedly very close, and the emotional nonchalance she has about his injuries makes no sense.

The suspense is okay, but just wasn’t big enough to keep my interest. Unfortunately, this one just didn’t work for me.

Could it be so flat because it is written by a man? 99% of all the books I read are written by women. The other 1% are non-romantic books, mostly fantasy or sci-fi.

Wow, sorry to see a D here – it sounded kinda interesting. If it makes it to to the TBR list, it will be way down.
