Shiarra Waynest Talks About Celebrity Crushes

Hello there! Jess Haines here. I’m the author of the urban fantasy H&W Investigations series (HUNTED BY THE OTHERS, TAKEN BY THE OTHERS, and the upcoming DECEIVED BY THE OTHERS). I’d like to take a moment to introduce you to some of the cast—Shiarra Waynest, the lead character, Sara, her business partner, Chaz, her on-and-off werewolf boyfriend, Arnold, a mage who lends her a hand, and Alec Royce, a vampire Shiarra meets in the course of her adventures.
Shiarra is going to tell you a little bit about her celebrity crushes. Over to you, Shia!

Shiarra: I have to admit, I’m a little uncomfortable talking about this.
Chaz: Why? It’s just a crush. Not like you’re actually going to boink them.
Shiarra: Chaz!
Chaz: What?!
Sara: Hah! Well, I think Tom Cruise is cute. He has an adorable smile.
Shiarra: Ew, really?
Sara: What? He does!
Royce: I’ve become rather fond of that redhead who plays Jessica on True Blood. Deborah Ann Woll, I believe her name is.
Arnold: Yeah. She’s cute.
Shiarra: Oh, yeah, Alexander Skarsgard in a uniform is pret—wait a sec, you watch True Blood?
Royce: Of course. It’s rather amusingly inaccurate, but entertaining, nonetheless.
Chaz: Creepy leech.
Royce: Tell me you don’t have your own guilty pleasures, dog, and look me in the eye when you say it.
Chaz: I didn’t say that. I just think it’s weird for an Other to watch a TV show about fake Others.
Arnold: It’s not that weird. I like that show, too.
Chaz: Am I the only person here who doesn’t watch it?
*cricket chirp*
Chaz: Christ.
Shiarra: Language.
Chaz: …sorry.
Arnold: I like Katee Sackhoff. She was hot in that Battlestar Galactica remake.
Chaz: Angelina Jolie is smokin’. Oh, and Megan Fox! I’d bang that like a screen door.
Shiarra: CHAZ!
Chaz: What?!
Royce: No need to be so crude in front of your girlfriend. She might take offense and turn to someone else for comfort.
Shiarra: Not in a million years, you perv. Stop smiling like that!
Royce: You know it’s only a matter of time, Ms. Waynest.
Shiarra: Yeeeeeah—no.
Sara: Hey, what about you? Alexander Skarsgard and who else?
Shiarra: I don’t know. Robert Pattinson, maybe?
Sara: Oh, ugh, are you serious? He looks so unwashed!
Shiarra: Cripes, you didn’t hear me go off about Tom Cruise!
Arnold: I’m a dude, and even I could do better than that.
Royce: Oh, really? This I must see.
Arnold: How about Jason Momoa?
Shiarra: Ew, the man with the moobs? No way! I’d take Sean Bean or Nikolaj Coster-Waldau over moobie-man any day.
Chaz: Moobs?
Shiarra: You know, man-boobs.
Sara: Like that one guy from the support group in Fight Club. Ohh, speaking of which, Brad Pitt was hot in that movie.
Shiarra: Oh, oh, I thought of another one! Ryan Reynolds!
Sara: Paul Rudd!
Shiarra: Richard Gere!
Sara: Older dudes? Sean Connery! Actually, never mind.
Chaz: I think we’re done here.
Shiarra: Josh Hartnett! Ryan Phillippe!
Sara: Sam Trammell!
Shiarra: Ryan Kwanten! Hell, any of the main male characters from True Blood.
Chaz: Girls. We. Are. Done.
Shiarra: Damn it, I was just getting on a roll.

This guy wasn’t on my radar until he appeared in season 2 of True Blood – Eggs aka Mehcad Brooks. He is so damn sexy. The body, the face, those LIPS! *sigh* I have a serious hard on for him. I think my crush on him is widely known throught the twitterverse and blogosphere. And I am not ashamed!
I love Harry Connick Jr.!!!! He’s gorgeous, and boy can the man sing. Hugh Jackman is another and the list goes on. I loved the post and thanks for the contest!
Definitely Alex O’Loughlin, Taylor Lautner, and Shemar Moore. That is one sexy chocolate god! But there are the older men that may seem abit creepy when you think about it because of their age, but sometimes you can’t help it. Like…Gary Oldman, David Thewlis, and Alan Rickman. Definately have to include Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Shamar Moore. Many others but those are two that I can think of right now!
Hugh Jackman & I adored Harrison Ford in the Star Wars & Indiana Jones era. I think it was the smart ass humor that got me.
My celebrity crush is Gerard Butler! Hottie, hottie, hottie!!!
I’d choose Gerard Butler as my number one crush, but I also love Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, Pierce Brosnan and Sean Connery. And after seeing Thor, I’d add Chris Hemsworth to the list as well.
I forgot about Johnny!!!! Even my 15 year old says he is “hot” for an old guy ;)

I just finished Deceived by the Ohers and really liked it. Can’t wait for the next one. This one left some issues unresolved and I look forward to seeing how the relationships progress.
I’m currently digging Tadd on So You Think You Can Dance. That’s sort of a celebrity; he IS on TV. It’s also weird that I generally don’t like blondes, or cradle robbing, but I secretly love Bradley James. That’s Prince Arthur on the show Merlin for the non-dorks.
