Today, we are happy to be featuring Mari Freeman on our blog. I met Mari at Authors After Dark this previous year and she is a fun author to hang out with. Mari Freeman writes both contemporary and paranormal, although writing isn’t the first career she has tested out, including working in a morgue. ;) I’m looking forward to seeing her again in New Orleans next August!
When asked -If you could pick one of your characters to go to New Orleans with you, who would you pick and what would you do? Her answer:
Oh. My. God! I would so be on that plane with Trent Nicholas. He’s the Werewolf hero from Hot, Hard & Howling. The man has ice blue eyes and is about 200 lbs of sex appeal. Although the book isn’t about Trent being a Werewolf, it sure is part of his presence on the page. He’s so complex and tortured by his family’s past. Tarent carries the guilt of generations on his shoulders.
And to have him in a city I love as much New Orleans would be a treat. As a teenager, I spent a couple weeks a summer in and around The French Quarter. I bet we’d sneak into one of the cemeteries and hang out and share a nice bottle of wine. At least he’d be able to scare off any big baddies that happened along.
Or we could catch dinner at Cafe Giovanni and enjoy some of the best Italian fare there. I know he’s pretty romantic when he lets his bad boy guard down. The food at Giovanni’s would almost be good enough to take my attention from Trent for a moment. Almost.
And of course we’d stay at the best French Quarter hotel with a balcony overlooking the courtyard, not the noisy street. We’d want quiet for our…um, long night.
After thinking about it…maybe we’d just stay in the room. I’ve seen New Orleans. I’d want to explore him.
