The Hero: Vic Savian. Brilliant Playwright. Has a dark, dominant edge in the bedroom.
The heroine: Niall Chandler. Curator of Contemporary art.. Lives across the hall from Vic. Visits his bedroom often. Has dark secrets.
“I told you to leave only because all I could think about doing was nailing you down on that hard floor until your ears rang. I figured you’d had enough of that back in my bed.” He watched as her eyes flickered around them and realized that she was checking to make sure they weren’t overheard.
“I liked it,” she finally whispered.
Vic eyes narrowed. His stroking fingers stilled. “You like being taken hard?” His cock swelled uncomfortable behind the fly of his jeans when she just nodded her head, her eyes overtaking half her face. “You weren’t a little scare, Niall?” he goaded her gently.
“No. Not of you.”
“Then what?”
He saw her glance away, sense her hesitation.
“Of myself, I guess. I’ve never done anything like that. It was impulsive, crazy…”
“Fucking great,” he finished succinctly. He cradled her chin in his palm when she glanced down, forcing her to meet his gaze again.
“What do you say, Niall? Do you want to get crazy with me again?”
Later….
“Suck on it, Niall, or I’m gonna spank your ass so hard you’re not going to be able to sit tomorrow.”
He could have sworn he saw her give him that witchy little smile before she arrowed his cock into her warm, humid depths. Her tongue pressed up on him sinuously until he was lodged securely against the hard ridge of her upper lip. She applied a steady, eye-crossing suction.
Ah, Christ, he’d been so right. Her mouth was made for sucking cock. Her mouth was made for sucking his cock.
His fingers sank down into her soft hair, pressing against her skull as he began to thrust between her lips, subtly at first..just tiny electrical pulsations. But her strong suck drew him deeper. So he gave it to her.
Yeah, he was a greedy bastard when it came to Niall.
I’m currently reading Wicked Burn (I’m about halfway through) and I like it. It will be rereleased in Mass Market Paperback on May 1st. Until then, you can find it here or Goodreads.

Why in the world is the Kindle Edition SO expensive!?!?! This is why, I’ll still buy paperback.
Mandi Schreiner says
It’s because the book was released in Trade Paperback – so originally, the PB was also that much. Once it is released on 5/1, in mass market PB, the Kindle price will go down.
I agree – so pricey!

This book has SOOOO many similarities to 50 Shades of Grey I can’t help but believe it was written by the same (ghost) author. A very good read, couldn’t put it down. But, I can’t get over HOW much it is like 50 Shades. Has anyone else noticed this?
Mandi says
I only read the beginning of 50 so I can’t compare too much. This book was originally published in 2008, so that was before 50 Shades (right?)
Beth Kery def writes some good dark, alpha males :)
