Prince Matteo is second in line to the Santina throne, and he is one serious dude. He doesn’t smile, he doesn’t have time for anything fun – he works, he raises money for charity and he tries to boost the reputation of the monarchy, which he is doing by making his brother’s engagement party as classy as possible. This proves difficult when his brother’s fiancé’s sister, Izzy Jackson, drunkenly stumbles on stage for an impromptu concert. Izzy’s goal in life is to be a singer, if only she could grab the attention of Matteo, who has great music contacts, she might get a break. She starred on a reality show, Singing Star, but the show turned into a humiliation for her, and a negative impact on her career. But Izzy refuses to give up. But she might have met her match.
This is such a cute story of two people who have personalities that totally clash with the other, yet they somehow find middle ground and a really adorable romance develops. Izzy is loud, clumsy and stubborn. She wants to prove to someone, anyone that she can sing. But no one ever listens. Matteo is a very wealthy prince who fears Izzy’s antics will cast a negative light on the monarchy, rather than the pleasant focus on his brother’s upcoming marriage. So he hauls Izzy off to his palace, to keep her out of the grasp of the reporters. She exasperates him. She isn’t a woman looking to jump in his bed, rather use him for his business contacts and that is rare. Once he starts to get to know her better, he sees her for who she really is.
Matteo is so alpha, calm and controlled. To watch him lose it whenever Izzy is around is really fun. And for all of Izzy’s crazy antics and relentless behavior, she is never annoying. She comes across as genuine and very witty. Really enjoyed this one.
