Just in time for the scariest season of all, three popular paranormal authors come together to tell original tales of romance where anything can happen under a Halloween moon . . .
Tempers flare and passions rise in Jocelynn Drake’s Of Monsters and Men as the local werewolf pack clashes with the Winter Court’s Wild Hunt . . .
In Terri Garey’s The Ghoul Next Door, a witch and a warlock battle it out for possession of a haunted house, but the ghost may have her own agenda . . .
And, in Trick or Treathen by Caris Roane, a master vampire struggles to stay away from the mortal woman who enflames his very soul. (Goodreads).
Of Monsters and Men by Jocelynn Drake Rating-C+
First off, let me start out by saying that this short novella is part of her Asylum series and is best read after book one-Angel’s Ink. If you haven’t read Angel’s Ink, this will spoil some things for you.
Drake takes us on a dark, satisfying trip back to Lowtown when Gage is approached by the local werewolf alpha for some help in avoiding the Wild Hunt. Action packed with Drake’s trademark dry humor makes this a welcome addition to the series; though I wish the romance would have been more forthcoming.
The Ghoul Next Door by Terri Garey Rating-B
Nothing says I love you like a binding spell. Matchmaking is taken to the extreme as a warlock and a witch battle it out to see who gets possession of a priceless heirloom. When an outside entity attempts to solve the matter by force, our frenemies match wits and powers to overcome an evil that has invaded their home. Cute and funny, my only complaint is I wish it had been longer.
Trick Or Treathen by Caris Roane Rating-C
Sexy master vampire Treyne tries to stay away from Jenna, but when she calls on him to help her save her sister, he is powerless to refuse her. Treyne knows that if he engages the master vampire who kidnapped Jenna’s sister could mean death for him but he is willing to risk everything for the mortal who has stolen his heart. Super steamy and sexy, this one hits all the romantic buttons but falls short on the plot.
Overall Rating: C+
