Today’s Smex Scene Sunday, I’m going to highlight a post that Jennifer from Romance Novel News posted yesterday, titled – The Great Spurt Study: A Seminal Look at Lora Leigh’s Usage of Spurt.

Jennifer is a huge Lora Leigh fan and last year noticed that Lora uses the word “spurt” excessively in each sex scene. Jennifer went on a year long crusade to uncover every “spurt” in every Lora Leigh book. And she has analyzed them in spreadsheet form for us!

Out of 86 Lora Leigh books, her heroes have spurted 402 times. That is a lot of spurting!!

My favorite analysis by Jennifer:

I wasn’t surprised to find that the heroes of the Breeds books are spurty. After all, these paranormal, non-human men have super-charged male appendages that emit a pre-orgasmic lubricant-ish substance that seems to have aphrodisiac-type powers that eases the way of said super-charged appendages into the desired passage (for the barb that will extend during orgasm). Remember earlier that I mentioned that Stygian spurted close to (if not) 10 times in one sex scene? This is normal for Breeds. They are endowed with spurtastic superpowers.
