J.R Ward had a book signing yesterday to celebrate the release of Lover at Last and as usual did a Q&A and told us some good information. The details I’m about to give were gathered from people who were at the signing and tweeted. Special thanks to @mslizalou and @betsdifranco for their tweets!
There are spoilers below for upcoming JR Ward books. You have been warned.
The spring 2014 BDB book will be titled – The King. And it will be about Wrath and Beth. You can watch JR Ward announce it on video HERE. About half my tweet stream cheered, the other half kind of said – eh? been there, done that. What are your thoughts on this? Do you like repeat character books? Do you like she went a new route with the title? I love to revisit past characters so I am totally on board. And with Ward, it won’t just be Wrath’s story again. It will be Trez, Assail and Xcor in there too. Ward also said Beth will be having a baby.
– She also mentioned Butch will get another book and hinted that others will get repeat books as well.
– Sola (Assail’s…woman) is 100% human. (let’s hope she doesn’t turn ghost!!)
– Throe may have family alive that we may meet (she did a “keep reading”)
– Qhuinn’s sister really is dead. Luchas and him will continue to heal.
– Lash will be back
– Saxton will play a major part in upcoming plot line (I likey!!)
– Qhuinn and Blay will be mated. (and hopefully we get hot mated sex? LOL)
– Ward noted that Layla is a full bred vampire so her pregnancy will last a long time but Beth is only a half breed……
– stuff needs to happen with Xhex before Murdher gets a book
– Phury’s future is tied up with the Scribe Virgin
– Layla is definitely a fallen chosen
– We will find out more about the woman who serviced Xcor and his brothers and she also hosted that dinner with Wrath…she is married to the really old guy.
– The Angel book out this fall (her other series) will be titled Possession.

So are we happy? I’m excited for more Wrath and Beth. I’m also excited to see how Xcor will change/redeem/betray so that he can be with Layla. I LOVE those two. And Ward seems to be really excited for Assail and Sola stuff. I’m glad their story is staying as a supporting one for now. Also interested to see how long it takes Trez to hump Selena *wink* Have I mentioned I love the BDB?? Is it March 2014 yet?
I am SO on board for more Wrath and Beth. It makes so much sense. He is the King. His story is never really over. And especially now with the Throne threatened by Xcor and his bastards and the “will they wont they” with the baby situation. I couldn’t be happier for “The King” and I love the different book title.
As much as we love to hate him, Lash coming back eventually will be good to see. If only to watch the Black Daggers kick his ass again.
I was worried that she HINTED a main character would be offed. If it has to be someone we see regular, I would be okay if it’s Saxton or Havers or one of the Bastards ( maybe not horndog, Zypher lol )
Maybe Saxton will get offed….I can’t imagine anyone bigger than him. People are still so pissed over Wellsie. LOL
I never understood the outrage over Wellsie. We hardly got to see her at all. I prefer Autumn [ducks from fans] lol

I kind of liked the Wellsie story line – I however was not a fan of Autumn. I didn’t mind Tohr was moving on but I just didn’t love her.
I happy for the next book be about Wrath and Beth. I like revisiting previous characters. I thought the next book would be Assail and Solo. But I suppose the Assail/Solo, Trez/Selena and Xcor/Layla storylines need more time to develop. I’m glad we’ll be seeing Saxton too. I also totally happy that Qhuinn and Blay will be mated!

I just finished reading Lover at Last and was wondering what was up next. Thanks for the update! I’m now looking forward to The King. There was definitely foreshadowing in Lover at Last about a baby, so such a storyline seemed likely. I’ll be interested to see if the King was able to stay one step ahead of the glymera with the legalities surrounding an heir to the throne.
Yeah – I think there is lots of story left with Wrath and Beth. Can’t wait to dive back into them
I finished reading this book and had to sit back with a sigh of satisfaction…I LOVED this book! I wasn’t sure what to expect with a m/m book since I’ve never read one..but wow! Hot, hot, hot! Finally Quinn and Blay getting it on…and it was rough and sexy! I can’t wait to see what happens with the Shadow brothers…Assail and Sola, Xcor and Layla…so many questions unanswered…so many directions to go in…can’t wait until 2014!

In a word, I’m very excited for anything BDB. I was surprised when you told me about the next book, BUT I do very much enjoy revisiting characters in an established series and what they are about to go through, all of it, will require of book of it’s own.
I assume Layla is fallen because she didn’t lay with a Brother and I guess Qhuinn doesn’t count because he wasn’t one at the time of conception. This saddens me. Layla has been around for a long time and I really liked her in this one-she’s getting shafted big time.
I’m excited for more Butch-other than the induction we didn’t see much of him and his role as Dehstroyer is HUGE. Also, Marissa should be popping out some babies too. She’s over 300 years old. Lets get with it.

I love the title and the book concept! What was also mentioned from the signing was that the guy who called Xcor at the end of the book was Saxton’s dad!! Yep, the glymera traitor who takes Elan’s place is Saxton’s daddy! I bet that’s why he will be in the next book a lot. I already can’t wait!!!!

I looove this book and the whole series! I usually don’t like reading repeats on characters, but with the bdb I don’t mind. I can’t get enough of them! Can’t wait till 2014.

I cannot understand the people who aren’t keen on Wrath and Beth, and possibly others, getting another book! It’s going to be EPIC! Seriously, I’ve only just finished LaL and I’m already dying for The King. Let’s fast forward to 2014 already!

I’m in the minority here. Getting tired of this series. I think Ward lost me after the 4th or 5th book. For me, the character’s names started to get on my last nerve. It’s all more of the same…meh.

ANY new BDB is great- and I’m so glad she’s writing another Fallen Angels novel. I’m curious to know if Lassiter will get his own book. I just finished “Lover Enshrined” where I think he was introduced (please correct me if I’m wrong) and am already curious about him. I understand she’s supposed to dovetail the Fallen Angels series with the Brothers at some point. I can’t wait, since I love them both and want to see Jim Heron and gang mix it up with the BDB.Makes me shiver just thinking about it!!!!!!
I’m pretty sure she has confirmed Lassiter will get a book, but I’m not sure if she will keep him in BDN world or Angel world. I’m curious to find out. It’s getting time for him to get a book I think. I love him!
I look forward to whatever JR Ward writes. But I am sad that she is leaving the titles with Lover. It is just so recognizable. People talking about Lover this or that, means: they are talking BDB.
I was surprised by the title change. But she needed something big after Qhuay I think
I was on JR WARD website and i found that Lover Revealed is being release July 2013. As we all know that is Butch’s story book 4. whats up with that?
She is releasing each of her previous paperback books as hardcover. Dark Lover, Rhage and Z’a book were released in hardback recently

I love that I did get some info. But when you said spoiler alert I didn’t think you would spoil that much… Next time maybe you should leave some super key things that should be an “oh what” moment when you’re actually reading the book out…
I have been waiting for repeats, I am glad that there are others and wouldn’t mind seeing their own books as well, however I can not wait to read more about each couple and the new couples too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
