9.  Each year, the Harlequin More Than Words award is given to three women who have worked hard to change people’s lives for the better. Inspired by their accomplishments, Harlequin donates $15,000 to each winner’s charity of choice and then pairs each winner with a bestselling Harlequin author who turns her story into a novella that’s released to the public as a free e-book.

Nominations for the 2014 awards have just opened and will be open until August 9th. To nominate someone you know who is making a difference in the world, or to nominate yourself, you need to submit a few sentences on the nominee, the charity she’s involved in, what inspires her and how she’s inspiring others. The nomination form is available here.

After the nominations are closed in August, the entrants are narrowed down to 5 finalists and the public votes for 3 winners (in November). Then, winners are announced in December, and honored through the $15,000 donation, the novella written about them and feature coverage on Harlequin’s site! (http://www.harlequinmorethanwords.com/). It’s a great program to honor all of the women who spend their time and energy doing things for others and might not be getting the recognition they deserve!

7. I recently read Cara McKenna’s After Hours and really enjoyed it. You can read my review HERE. Her next book with Penguin to be titled, Unbound has me completely intrigued. She wrote a blog post about the hero at the blog Wonk-O-Mance. The hero is SO broken and damaged and…I WANT HIM. *wink* Also – the heroine has recently lost 100 pounds…interesting.

6. Thor #2 is coming out this fall. Y’all..Thor is hot. HOT. I know there is Iron Man and Superman and all those other muscular heroes. But Thor. Thor and his giant erect hammer and his long hair. And then there is this:

5. Speaking of peens (well, we weren’t speaking of it but we were ALL thinking about it) – I feel redeemed. I am known to on occasion use the word Peen on Top Ten lists. It just seems to pop up on here. And while this is just a mere romance blog, something else much bigger and  more important had a little peen fun.

You see, the $820 million dollar Mars exploration rovers drove around on Mars and made a big Peen and balls. Almost sure it was on purpose. *wink* There may not be life on Mars but damn it – there is peen. Goes to show it doesn’t matter how fancy you are. Peen and balls STILL WIN!

4. Well since we are talking about peens I might as well keep going. We all know one of my all-time favorite words is HaPENIS because…

Apparently, I’m not the only one who finds this amusing. My friend Selena discovered there is an Etsy shop named “Happenis” specializing in peen art (also sketches of nakey men – NSFW).

For example, this is a cozy picture of a peen and a kitty cat hanging out.

Or sometimes peens just like a snuggle on the beach.

There are many more. Also some well done sketches of men. I very much approve of this store!

3. So we need to talk Game of Thrones for a minute. First of all, Khaleesi was totally bad ass last episode. Go girl power.

My husband and I also have a new ear worm thanks to Helyce. It really should have been the actual song to start the show. You can hear it here. It has the F word in it so be aware of that. Pretty sure the husband and I have sang this at least a thousand times. LOL.

And I can’t end without sharing this article which highlights how similar (and totally awesome) Olenna Tyrell (Margaery’s grandmother) and Violet Crawley (Downton Abbey) are. It’s really funny. I love them both.
