To celebrate the release of It Had to Be You, Jill Shalvis is stopping by to tell us her favorite scenes of the series so far. Is your favorite on the list?
I couldn’t pick just five and leave out one of the books, so here is my Top SIX favorite scenes, one from each book out so far.
1. From Simply Irresistible, the Christmas tree scene. The three estranged sisters, Maddie, Tara, and Chloe are stuck together with a Charlie Brown Christmas tree and no decorations. Boosted by too much eggnog, they decorate with kitchen utensils and lie beneath the tree together, staring up at their decorating job, wondering about things like their tenuous future and hot guys…
2. From The Sweetest Thing, when Ford and Logan try to outdrink each other and Ford drunk-dials Tara and admits things that he wouldn’t normally admit even under the threat of death and dismemberment.
3. From Head Over Heels, the great paint scene. Chloe shows up at badass Sheriff Sawyer Thompson’s door. He’s good and ticked off at her but this doesn’t deter her from first sharing a bottle of wine with him, and then a second, and then, while intoxicated, helping him paint the house. Except they end up painting each other … and then they’re found in a tangled of paint-spattered limbs by Sawyer’s friends.
4. From Lucky In Love, the auction scene. Actually the scene after the auction scene, when Mallory is followed into the attic by a hot-as-sin Ty Garrison. They’re looking for an auction piece but what they find there in the dark turns out to be a whole lot better…
5. From At Last, the camping scene. Amy is a city girl, and not used to being out in nature without an electrical outlet. When she’s injured, it’s up to Ranger Matt Bowers to administer some first aid, along with some TLC…
6. From Forever And A Day, the bar scene between the three guys, Ty, Matt and Josh, where they are staring down at a Cosmo magazine and debating such things as “do hoohas need a spa day really?”

Those are all great! I’m kinda surprised that the outdoor shower scene wasn’t picked in Head Over Heals…it’s so hard to pick just one from each book!

Jill, these are all my favorites too. Loved when Maddie and Jax were in the attic and almost well actually were but then got disturbed by Lucille…when Maddie’s hand hit the glass and she told Jax ” she thinks I’m waiving to her”..
When Mallory fell back in the soap bucket at the car wash…
I’m a total series girl. I feel when I read this series that I live in this little town called Lucky Harbor…don’t ever stop….wonderful series.
All my best,
Mona

I love those scenes, definitely some of my favorites! And the outdoor shower scene w/ Sawyer & Chloe, and the attic scene w/ Maddie & Jax, and the scene when Grace goes to Josh’s bedroom, and so many more! Love Jill’s books, especially the Lucky Harbor series!!

Oh the scene of Grace looking in the surf for Dr. Josh’s dog she was sure she’d lost. So many great scenes. I loved IT HAD TO BE YOU. So many wonderful word pictures…p.131 “She simply chose not to live in the dark…”; p. 180 “And the fact that I get up each morning and put a damn smile on my face is the same as…Batman putting on his cape.”; p.265 “And last but not least, I love you so hard it hurts. I might die of it, actually, which makes me a short-term bet at best.” and so many more =) THANK YOU JILL
